I have owned this product for over 6 months. It is awesome. I have yet to have to clean anything. I cook a lot of hamburgers, chicken patties, breasts, fish etc. Everything has turned out great. The bags are a little expensive but the saving in time, paper towels, soap the expense is worth it. I do think this is more a single person's item because there isn't a lot of room in the bags for two chicken breasts etc. I hope when mine wears out they are still making them.

I have had my Rocket Grill for almost a month. I am sure I will be using it a lot. Everything I have cooked has turned out great: chicken - very tender and juicy; steaks, pork chops, pannini sandwiches, hamburgers. I quickly realized that sometimes frozen foods won't work - some pork chops I had frozen were too big to get into the grill until they thawed! I am eating at home more often now that it only takes a few minutes to cook.

This is perfect if you want quick burgers, chicken etc that is juicy and not dried out. I can't stop using it!

Revised 1/24/2009... Back to a 4 Star Rating! I found my receipt on Amazon for the purchase. Lo and Behold I had Six Weeks left on the One Year Warranty. I called Sunbeam and in a minute or two they promised to ship me a brand new unit. All I have to do is cut the cord and trow the old one out. Can't beat that deal.

Revised 1/13/2009.... Worked for about six months before it died. Since you use little pouches to cook the food and I have 25 of them left the grill worked exactly 25 times before it broke. Now it blows the GFI protected circuit after being plugged in for 15 minutes. I therefore dropped the four star rating I had on it to one star.



This grill makes great toasted sandwiches. I use sub-rolls, with the hard 'cracker-barrel' brand cheddar cheese and ham, bologna, roast-beef you name it. Set the timer to 4 minutes and forget it. The sandwich comes out pressed together and toasted with the neat grill marks. The cheese is melted and the meat nice and warm. Tuna Melt? Fan-tas-tic.

On the down side... big and bulky. It is tall so you can not store it on a normal kitchen cabinet shelf. I have to put it in the pantry.

It does not handle frozen food well at all. Special heat setting for using a frozen hamburger patty and they always come out over done. Steak doesn't have that grilled flavor we all love.

But for those of you out there with kids that need a sandwich for school this baby will cure the same-old, same-old blues the kids get come the third quarter marking period.

I've tried a good many grills, but none can compare to this one. You can take a frozen hamburg and cook it well done in 3 1/2 minutes. I've grilled chicken - came out just wonderful. I've grilled frozen chicken kabobs, again - only took a few minutes. I've made panini sandwiches, bread comes out nice a toasty and insides are warmed. I've even done a grilled cheese sandwich in it. Clean up is a breeze. Throw the bag away. And talk about the fat dripping away - because it's like a toaster, all the fat drips into the bottom of the bag, aware from the food. Best grill I've ever had. You won't regret getting it.

This is great thing to own. I live in the Middle East. I have to have a tranformer to use this, but it is the best thing I have ever owned that was reliable and easy to clean! Secondly, how can you beat the fact that the fat dribbles down in the pocket and leaves your food clean? I use this for everything, from steaks, chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers and grilling vegetables. I save the juice from the veggies to use in place of oil in my arroz con pollo. Secondly, you can save your drippings from the parchment pocket to separate the juice from the fat. I do that. I pour it in a little ziplock baggie, stick it in the fridge till the fat solidifies and then I snip the end of the bag to catch the broth. I use that as well in place of oil! I love this machine!!!

I bought this product since it was on a sale and I was getting lazy to clean my George Foreman on the patio. I am so pleasantly surprised by this product. I have used it for the last couple of months and like everybody else, I am yet to clean it. Yes, the unit is slightly bigger than a typical grill, but anything that reduces my cleaning compensates it all for me. I use my grill everyday mostly for frozen salmon burgers. They come out awesome.

I like this with reservations. It certainly removes all the grease from your food but it also squeezes it a lot. You have to be sure to use the lighter setting when making sandwiches or it squeezes the insides out. I guess it's all a learning curve thing. I could live without it but I do like it for quick meals for myself. Great for Italian sausage. Flattens it a bit but that's part of the reason I like it. And, of course, the best part....NO CLEAN UP!!! This is one of many of my kitchen toys I just had to try!

I love the Rocket Grill for cooking burgers, chicken, etc. However, I've had it less than a year, and was wiping the front plate today with JUST a paper towel and water, and the black lettering wiped right off! From the fresh/frozen selector switch and the timer! Fortunately I realized it before it was all gone, and could use a permanent marker to fix it...but it doesn't look very nice anymore.

I was interested in this appliance when it first came out but decided it was too much money and I already had a cupboard full of appliances. It is just the two of us now and so I have to cook in smaller portions. I came across the appliance right after Christmas in a discount store and the price was right. I love it! I can put 2 portions in the bag and it is quick and doesn't dry out the meat. I use it to grill sandwiches and love the no clean up after. I don't know how long the appliance will continue to work, but for now, I use it almost everyday for something.
