Costumer's delight,

This review is from: Fancy Aprons and Sunbonnets -- Vintage Patterns and Instructions (Women's Institute of Domestic Arts and Sciences) (Paperback)
Great for anyone interested in 1916-style aprons. Well illustrated with a picture of each pattern layout and of the finished item. The maker must be prepared to adapt the instructions to modern materials and to adjust length if the apron is to be worn with modern clothing. Also, the "fancy" in the title does not mean "dressy." There are dressy aprons here but there are also several utility aprons. The clothes-pin apron would be a great alternative to the kangaroo pocket sweatshirt that some of us use.
Complete sunbonnet patterns! As a teenager, I used to see the classic sunbonnet worn by some of the older Ozark women as they gardened. Useful anywhere that the sun is an enemy (like Phoenix!), the classic sunbonnet will completely shade your face and neck.

This book is a real treat. It is a reproduction of an old teaching booklet and is full of wonderful pictures and patterns. I want to make all the fancy aprons and sunbonnets pictured because they look so beautiful. The directions are intended for students and are very clear as well.

Waste of time for the home sewer. Probably great for a theatrical seamtree or tailor.
