I really like Suncast products, and since we do a lot of outdoor entertaining, this was a natural. It is huge (the whole unit is the size of a dishwasher) - holds 40 lbs of ice plus beverages. A bit short on insulation, so don't count on it lasting more than 6-8 hours. I do recommend tying a string to the plug so you can drain some of the water out to add more ice. It's way too cold to fish around with an ungloved hand.
The bottom storage will hold a full case of water bottles. Really handy when you've got a work crew to keep hydrated. Won't replace the Igloo for long-term chilling, but a much nicer alternative for entertaining.

This product was purchased for my pool area. It replaces all the ugly coolers that my sons fill with their drinks. THANKS. It is wonderful! Works great; looks better!

Suncast Patio Cooler, 77 Quarts[[ASIN:B001P5HM5K Suncast Patio Cooler, 77 Quarts] We just received the cooler and are in the process of assembling it. The cooler is very attractive and the instructions are easy to follow. Unfortunately, we have noticed that, as noted by other customers, the bottom storage cabinet door does not stay closed. More irritating is the fact that one of the styrofoam panels is missing. Needless to say, we are disappointed by the lack of product/quality control demonstrated by this company. This item should have been checked prior to shipping.

I purchased this cooler three years ago. I had no problem with the assembly; it went rather quickly. My problem, however, is that now after three years, the plastic liner cracked in two or three places in the seam of the box. I took very good care of the cooler during the winter months (I live in the Midwest) by storing it inside my home. Now my only recourse is to try and mend the plastic liner or get a new one, if that is even possible.

I didn't get the interlocking pieces lined up correctly when snapping the last side into place. Didn't notice until well along in assembly. Very difficult to disassemble to correct. Had to force the bent-over large tab into place.
Minor damage. As is said: When all else fails, follow the directions. After placing the five foam pieces into place one will notice that there are fairly large gabs in the corners. One might get a can of insulation spray foam to fill them up before completing the assembly. FWIW.

Does What It's Supposed To Do!,

Good price and value. Assembly instructions are a 9 out of 10. Need a crescent wrench for the nuts on the lower door handle and maybe a needle nose pliers to pull off the clear plastic tubing which initially covers them (you'll see during parts lay-out). Minor confusion on my part during assembly of brown liner rim. White liner sits directly on top of the top edge of styrofoam so the brown rim can snap against the tan body. Just remember to read everything through and assembly is pretty much a snap. Insulation is five pieces of styrofoam that fit fairly well. So, don't throw anything away or destroy anything until it's completely assembled. Did not notice in picture prior to purchase the "shelf paper" that covers the top and side shelf. More than likely will separate eventually in direct exposure to the elements. Lower door stays closed. Design has the drain tube come through lower door area and out the back. Supplied rubber grommet for drain tube-through-body area does fit (with a bit of work and a flat head screwdriver)in the designed drain hole. No grease or lube included though directions stated it was. WD40 in this area works well. Agree string on drain cover (looks like air hole insert of a beach ball) makes it more user friendly.

I was using a thirty year old cooler for my parties when I thought it is time to get something a little nicer for my patio. I was first looking at the stainless steel but I live by the ocean and was a little concern about how it would do in that climate. I have a large storage box made out of the same material as this cooler and it does great so I decided to go with this one.
Very easy to put together and looks so much better than my old cooler. In fact I decided to buy another for my second home.

I bought this for a new patio we had just put in our backyard. We had a party this weekend and it was the first time we used our cooler. I filled it with various drinks, added two 15lb. bags of ice @ 2p.m. We did put an umbrella up to add some shade over it as our patio is in the sun most of the day. When the party was over and everyone went home we just went to bed and left things as they were for the night. Next morning I looked into the cooler and was amazed to find ice still in the bottom. We went to breakfast and then had more friends over that afternoon, so I added another 10lbs. ice. Again the next morning it still had ice in the bottom!!!! I would highly recommend this product. The only thing I found bad is the door on the cupboard doesn't stay closed tightly, almost as if its a little to small for the opening.

When I started to assemble this cooler I had doubts that it would keep anything cold. Went together fairly quickly and was gone to use the next day for an outing. Loaded it up with refreshments, holds alot, and added ice. It kept everything cold and the next day it was still cold with ice in it. Great product, storeage is not large enough for storing cooking things.

This cooler is easy to assemble (snaps together) and is very sturdy. I had a party on my deck and several guests remarked about how great the cooler was and they all said they were going to purchase it for their own homes. I had read a review from another purchaser on Amazon who wrote that you should attach a cord to the drain plug so you don't have to put your hand into a pool of ice water to empty the cooler and that was a very good recommendation.
