5.0 out of 5 stars What a product!
Outdoor Screen Enclosure - WhiteWe purchased this product in the summer and placed it around an unsightly air condition heat pump unit. What a difference! The product has withstood all kinds of weather and stayed in place and still looks as good as new.

3.0 out of 5 stars Depends on where you use it . . ., June 9, 2008

I guess I expected this item to look a bit more substantial - it is definitely molded-looking and as lightweight as an inexpensive white resin "stack" chair; reverse side of panels is hollow. (That's not appealing if anyone can see behind it, as we can where we intended to use it.) Probably best suited for a BACK yard, perhaps with flowers or bushes growing up and around it (all panels are identical, so you have "loops" for additional panels sticking out on both sides). Color is slightly "less white" than our professionally-installed PVC vinyl fence (so this one definitely looks "temporary.") Also, really measure out height you need; although I did read the height description before ordering, this looks like a "child's fence" - something for a Little Tyke's playhouse - next to our full-sized (same style) fence. Would be a good limiting fence for keeping kids from wandering (stakes go deep into ground so it's not easy to move).

This product does what it says, but it is more flimsy than it looks in the picture. Don't expect it to replace a fence.

I'm happy with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yard Screen, May 30, 2008

This attractive and easy to install screen conceals trash cans and also my composter. I purchased two and use them together. It is perfect in a neighborhood were outdoor free standing sheds are not permited.

2.0 out of 5 stars Could be better, November 17, 2007

This product is fairly flimsy b/c of the backside being hollow and it would be good if it was about 1 - 1.5 ft. taller.

I suppose if you intend to put it somewhere where you never have to touch it and you can secure it really well, it may work for you. I thought I could use it around the garbage cans and just move it every time I needed to get to the cans. The problem is that the pieces are connected by a rod that will just fall right out if you try to move one panel. It was a flimsy, cheap solution for something that could have been engineered a lot better. I returned it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Functional and Easy to Setup - Recommended w\Caveats, October 14, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Suncast FS4423 Outdoor Screen Enclosure (Lawn & Patio)
This Suncast "Outdoor Screen Enclosure" works well enough to mostly block my unsightly trashcans from my neighbor's view and it was remarkably easy to setup without the aid of another person, but it is far from a "professionally" installed product. We ended up buying an additional set to expand the first one. Here are my observations:

Includes -
4 Panels (44" tall x 23" wide)
5 Metal Posts with rubber tops

Pros -
+ Easy to Install; each panel has loops on the sides that the thin "posts" slip through and then, using a hammer or mallet, secured to the ground (Hint: be sure to drive the rubber post cap all of the way down to the top loop for better stability)
+ Versatile; these can be configured in a "U", "W", or "L" shape

Cons -
- Thin Plastic; these panels not very sturdy and are very lighwieght

Considerations -
* The panels are less than 4" tall so a large trashcan will be visible over the top
* The posts are very thin metal that are just driven into the ground so high wind is a concern (at least in my area)
* Obviously made of plastic, even from a distance

This set works for my needs and the ease of setting it up and ability to move and add on to it is another benefit that makes this worthwhile for me.

Recommended, but with the caveats listed above.

These privacy panels look nice, but they are too flimsy. I thought they would be molded as solid fence panels, but they are about 1/8-inch thick, hollow on the back side, making them useful only as decorative screens. Because they are so light, be prepared to figure out a way to anchor them solidly when you install them. I used 2x4s as a base and drilled holes to hold the anchor stakes firmly. Given their light structure, I think they should cost less than half the advertised price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I needed, August 1, 2008

When my neighbor's slab foundation plumbing system sprang a leak, the solution was to install 18 feet of foam-padded plumbing to the outside wall of their house. Understandable. Only problem is, that outside wall is technically part of my back yard. I needed something to cover up the unsightly view and return what was once a beautifully lanscaped area to its former glory. This fit the bill perfectly. It's plastic, so I had no qualms putting it directly against the house as there is no risk of termites. Yes, the backsides of the panels are hollow, as another reviewer pointed out, but no matter in this case.

I bought three sets of panels given the size of the problem. They connected together easily and could be installed with only a hammer or mallet. They can be removed very easily if future access to the plumbing is needed. Some leveling of the ground was required to get the whole thing to look even. I have no concerns about overall stability, even though the instructions clearly state these are not meant to be installed in a straight line.

In all, this was a great, affordable solution that I would have otherwise had to pay a contractor to solve. Super Saver shipping made this offer the best on the web!

I needed something to hide the trash containers on the side of the garage. This was an ideal solution. Inexpensive, easy to install and attractive.
