I ordered two shovels. Good price. No problems so far and I have used them in three snow storms. Even heavy snow, it functions fine. The good thing about this shovel is you can push snow and lift snow with the same piece of equipment. I personally do not like the metal edge on the bottom. It may last longer with this, however, the metal scratches wooded decks and doesn't glide that well. This can be removed if need be.

It works. I've never shoveled snow before, so I have no idea how it compares; but it's light; holds lost of snow; and made it through the snowiest, coldest Iowa winter in 30 years (so the locals tell me; I'll believe it when it's not this cold and snowy next year!:-)

I originally bought this shovel to use on our deck in the back as I have a Uline heavy, sharp shovel to use on our Minnesota driveway in the front of our house. However, carrying that 10 lb shovel from the front to the back is a pain. So I bought this shovel with a small job in mind. I LOVE this shovel! It is SOOO light! I didn't even break a sweat clearing the deck with this light shovel and the metal strip (which my heavy duty shovel does not have), is AWESOME! It cut up the solid snow so I could easily break it up to shovel. It scrapped the ice off the deck so the path is clear (I was having to put down salt to try and break up the ice)! Since I hadn't broke a sweat, I decided to try it out on the 4 inches of snow that had just landed in the driveway. Again, it exceeded my expectations. The shovel was so great, I had to stop using it because it wanted to get ALL of the snow off the driveway and I did not have time to get 3 months worth of packed snow off my driveway, so I resorted to the old shovel which just tackled the new snowfall. I am super duper happy with my purchase. I did not know one could be in love with a shovel, but I am.

This winter has been unusual in the Seattle area, and we received close to 3 feet of snow. The shovel arrived in time for the last of the storms and worked well. No complaints and looking forward to testing it further during the rest of the winter.

This year has been a tough Winter, with over 5 feet of snow. This shovel was a good investment. Hoping Spring comes soon.

I am not impressed with this product. After merely four uses, the wear strip on my shovel is badly bent. It was used normally and only on snow and ice--which, I think, falls under the range of uses a snow shovel is supposed to be designed to handle. I didn't do anything unusual with the shovel.

Another reviewer mentioned that the wear strip can scratch wood decks. That's absolutely true, but it can also scratch concrete, if you happen to bear down too much on the (extremely sharp) end of the wear strip. Unfortunately, that's pretty easy to do. And now that my wear strip is bent as much as it is, I expect that it will scratch my concrete driveway and walkway along the length of the wear strip as well.

The plastic of the scoop is strong enough, but just barely. I don't care for how much it flexes during heavy shoveling.

Finally, the handle is too small to use comfortably when pushing snow. I can't get a proper grip on it with both hands, and as a result, I end up bracing the handle against my body.

A few good points: The design of the scoop is ideal. It handles both pushing and shoveling well. The shaft is rigid, and doesn't twist or flex. I tried bending it over my knee (to test its rigidity) and found that I could not. Also, the shaft is affixed to the handle and the scoop using screws rather than rivets, meaning that they can be tightened or replaced, should the need arise.

But still, any snow shovel that can't handle a single North Carolina snowfall isn't worth its weight in snow.

Works perfectly as a snow shovel. No complaints with functionality, look or ergonomics. It's light but sturdy. I've owned this shovel for over/at least 7 years and I've used it every year and loaned it out just as many times. It loved Snowmageddon. I did just notice a split in the plastic just at the center front above the wear strip, though. I imagine that sooner or later it will make it to the handle, but it could be years before that happens, as the wear strip will probably keep the shovel intact until the last second. I'm ordering a new one right now...just as a backup.
