Vibrant performances!,

This review is from: Sundance Trio (Audio CD)
These vibrant performances by the Sundance Trio should be welcomed by all double reed players who are looking for something besides the Poulenc Trio to program on a recital. Though not as well known as the Poulenc, these works are certainly worth a listen! I was particularly happy to hear the "Chanson Gaillarde" by Paul Angerer, with its clean lines and baroque inflections. I was also glad to be reminded of the ravishing "Trio" by Geoffrey Bush--I'll definitely be programming this one. But you listen, and find your own favorites! Thanks to the members of the Sundance Trio. Their outstanding musicianship brings these little known works to life.

This is a wonderful CD by The Sundance Trio! I enjoyed Jed Moss' piano, Geralyn Giovannetti's oboe and Christian Smith's bassoon. I had never heard a trio like this so it was different for me. But I really liked it! It's a great example of how well these three instruments blend well together. Fantastic!
Well done! |
