This CD is a mix of instrumental music(degung), small group singing, solo and duo male/female singing, and intoned prayer. The lead male vocalist has an especially warm, strong voice. The female lead lacks the "silvery" quality I love in some Sundanese female singers, but is quite proficient.
The music can serve as background music or be listened to closely--even after several hearings. Don't be put off by the cover photo. The music is Sundanese. The sound quality is good. I would have given 5 stars except for the inappropriate cover art and lack of notes. Perhaps some copies do have liner notes. |
