Essential Cash Title,
By
This review is from: Sunday Morning Coming Down (Audio CD)
This one brings out the best of Cash from the 60's, and even Country Music in general from the late 60's. Understand Your Man mixes a little tongue in cheek humor with minimalist, biting country twang. Folsum Prison Blues is a Country standard, and the deep, melancholy sounds of Sunday Morning Coming Down fills the heart, and is probably THE definitive sound of Johnny Cash's music. Big River and Try To Be That Way are also worth a listen. There's a little bit of Country AND Western, Gospel, and folk in here. If you want the essential Johnny Cash, this is it. Might not be for you if you're of the Boy Named Sue crowd.

Another Cash Collection,

Once again, in Sunday Morning Coming Down, Johnny Cash sings some of his and your old favorites (Orange Blossom Special, Big River, Understand Your Man, and the unforgetable Folsom Prison Blues) and new ones. Though more like a collection of his songs (not all of them were released for this record only), Sunday Morning Coming Down is a fairly cheap album worth buying if your a first time buyer or someone looking for some of his rarer songs.
