5.0 out of 5 stars Really Realistic, March 26, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Sunday Morning: The Novel (Paperback)
I could totally relate to the work of this writer. I am a christian woman and I know the works of the church. I was totally connected to the way in which Ms.McInnis described the need of the main character to call out to God in her situation. I would and I have reccommended this book to my fellow church members and they too have had only good things to say about it. I look foward to reading books from Ms.McInnis in the future. The way she put the thoughts and feelings of the characters and their stuggles before God was great. It is a must read for all Young Adult Christian people.

Ask me how I know! In her writing debut, Wanza McInnis weaves an in-your-face tale of a group of young people struggling to learn the truth about themselves, their relationships and Jesus Christ. If you're looking for some goody-goody Christian fiction, you won't find it here--Dominick Willis, the minister of music has a main girlfriend, an undercover girlfriend and now he wants to marry Ebony Johnson, up-and-coming youth minister.

As Dom lies and fronts to get what he wants, both he and Eb have to analyze their Christian walk. Is having a man worth scandalizing your good name? Is having the woman you want worth giving up your comfortable, pretty-on-the-outside relationship?

Read Sunday Morning and find out . . .

THIS BOOK IS VERY INSPIRING TO ME, BECAUSE IT GIVES ME A DIFFERENT INSIGHT OF WHAT OTHERS THINK AND FEEL ABOUT THEIR CHRISTIAN LIFE. SUNDAY MORNING GAVE ME MOTIVATION TO GET MY LIFE BACK ON TRACK. I HAD A LOT OF IDENTIFICATION WITH THE CHARACTER EBONY JOHNSON. IT'S DEFINITELY A BOOK THAT I BELIEVE EVERY CHRISTIAN WILL ENJOY READING.

Sometimes you feel that your experiences are unique but this book lets you know that someone else knows that "church folk" can be "church folk". I'm anticipating Ms. McInnis' next project.

The way McInnis has revealed truth and reality, All I have to say is, IT ABOUT TIME! someones telling the truth of what goes on in some churches, I mean she hits it dead on! You'll be amazed how she gives you detail by detail. Leting you knw how you can be easliy presuded, especially if it's something that you want, or been dreaming about;your most desires. And how Then It makes you think and reevaule your self, make sure you knw who you really are and whom you serve, or who your going to serve, in spite of what people think or what your heart desire. This was one of the best books I've read, related to christians.. you knw what goes on behind the scenes, It's truley an eye opener for me, It leaves you like.. what happens next!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Talk About Keeping it Real?, March 16, 2001

This review is from: Sunday Morning: The Novel (Paperback)
This girl has hit the nail on the head with grace. I have never read anything like this. It let's you see church from the darkside but yet encourages you stay there if you're in it and get in it if you are not. There are so many "Ebony Johnson's" out there needing to read this book. Pass it along. It's easy reading and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Sure makes church life seem like "real life"
