About the Author

Billye Robbins is a first-time novelist. She wrote The Sunflower Girls Club in the late 1990’s, and tucked it away. She brought it out again after she moved back to Kansas, and after the sudden death of her beloved husband, Russ. He always encouraged and inspired her during their forty-one years of marriage. He wanted her to publish this book! Billye spent years in the fitness industry, and also as an actress and director. She is the mother of three children, and “Grandmama” to six grandchildren. She also is a somewhat overwhelmed pet parent of five dogs. Billye was born in Independence, Kansas. She attended the local junior college and Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. She spent her married life near Boston, Massachusetts. Although she misses the East, she’s happy to reconnect with her Kansas roots.

A friend of mine who grew up with the author recommended this book to me. I was particularly interested that part of the book takes place in Swampscott, MA where I grew up. So, aside from the mutual connection, I thoroughly enjoyed the book & would strongly recommend it to anyone. I'm just sorry she isn't going to write another book. She's really good!

Great book! Well written and enjoyable. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good story. For a first novel, Billye Robbins hits it out of the park. I cannot wait for her next book!

I'm glad I keep an open mind otherwise I would never have choosen to read what I thought was sure to be a "chick movie" book. What a great surprise! Robbins has a nice writing style, and the story kind of reels you in. Has a few good laughs too. Definately a buy. The Sunflower Girls Club
