Meaties are hulled sunflower seeds. There is very little waste and seed hulls left on the ground, unlike other wild bird seed choices. A bit more expensive but the birds love these. Regulars at my feeders in Maine, chickadees, cardinals, purple finch, goldfinch, downy woodpeckers, morning doves, blue jays, titmice, pine siskins, nut hatch, junco. Other flocks of migrating birds stop by and clean out the large feeders for a couple weeks until they fatten up and move on. Most popular choice I've ever used.
