2.0 out of 5 stars Not worth it., February 23, 2011
This review is from: Sunforce 39310 130-Watt High-Efficiency Polycrystalline Solar Panel Module (Automotive)
This is about the most affordable solar solution out there, but that ain't saying much.

Assume you are lucky to get 500 watt-hours a day with this thing, at a value $.10 per Kw/hr you are getting 5 cents per day with each panel. at a price of $800 that means it will take 16,000 days to get your money back on investment. That's almost 44 years!

assume the average wattage out put for the hours at 8oclock and 6 oclock is 10 watts, at 7 and 5 its 20 watts at 8 and 4 its 30 watts at 9 and 3 its 50 watts, at 10 and 2 its 75 watts at 11 and 1 its 95 watts and at 12 its 110 watts.

daily wattage is 20 + 40 + 60 + 100 + 150 + 190 + 110
300 + 250 + 120 670 watts per day then subtract 170 to factor in for cloudy/rainy days.

Everybody and their grandma knows this is not a good investment.

Wind turbines are more affordable, but even then, you're better off on the grid.
