Convenient charging for power sport vehicles
Convenient Power That Helps Keep Your Batteries Charged

This Sunforce solar charger lets you harness the power of the sun, the most powerful and plentiful source of energy available to us. Unlike nuclear and fossil fuels, solar power is clean and pollution-free, and the equipment requires very little maintenance to operate.

Sunforce Solar Panels are effective in areas of both high and lower sun exposure, making them ideal for use in the United States

The Power Sports Charger may be attached directly to your battery using either of the accessories included with the charger. Included with the charger are a set of “O” Rings as well as a set of battery clamps. Both are equipped with quick connect technology to allow quick and easy connections.

About Amorphous Solar Power

Solar panels convert sunlight into an electric current, they do not store power. Amorphous solar panels are created by spraying silicon onto glass in very thin layers, and are commonly known as thin film solar panels. This process allows them to be better at generating electricity in all lighting conditions, including cloudy or shady environments. They have a maximum operating temperature range of -40 to 176-degrees Fahrenheit, requiring virtually no maintenance. They can even withstand impacts from one-inch hailstones at 50 miles-per-hour.

Amorphous Silicon key points:

  • Lightweight, portable, and shade tolerant
  • For entry to solar or hands on solar
  • Best for smaller output needs, temporary set ups, and areas that do not receive predictable sun conditions

This unit is a must for any vehicle that sits for an extended period of time. As long as the battery has a full charge this will maintain the battery and it will keep the charge topped off. Over the winter my bike sits for long periods and with solar maintainer the battery fires the bike up every time. A weather proof unit is what I needed since it is mounted outside of my garage. It also has a 15' extension for it. Beware that the positive and negative terminals are reversed on this unit as compared to most other battery chargers and maintainers so you will have to pay attention to that if you are swapping cables or you are integrating it will another charging device.

My boat sometimes sits on the lift for weeks without going out. Many times when I was ready to go out the battery would be low. It seemed like my battery life was a lot less than when I used the boat a lot. Since I hooked-up the Sunforce 1-Watt charger to it the battery is always ready to go. With the quick connect/disconnect wire harness I have the charger mounted to the boat lift and fastened to the battery. Just disconnect and go. One drawback I found was that the ring terminal harness was too small to fit over my battery terminals. I broke one trying to drill it out to make it larger. I went to the hardware store and bought some larger ring terminals that could be crimped on. It now fits and works great.

I purchased this array to charge an accessory battery on my golf cart. It seems to be well made and is water proof, which is why I bought it. It comes with ample cords and is small in size.

I would have given it 4 or 5 stars, but, it has no LED or any way to know if and when it is working. Some of these arrays ( some cheaper) have at least an LED to let you know the thing is functioning. A serious draw back IMHO!

I bought two of these and mounted them to my PWC trailer tongue. During the day, there is anywhere from 7-18 volts DC flowing to my batteries keeping them fresh. Taking out pwc batteries and bringing them home to keep on a trickle charge sucks. My PWC's are kept in an open storage lot and these work perfectly to keep the batteries fresh with NO maintenance.

use on a bike stored outside under a cover - as I live in MC paradise(San Diego)
a) could use a velco "kit" to help hang or attach to a cover or surface ( it's not very heavy, (2) strips 1" x 4" hold it to the cover)
b) like some one else wrote - if you use the permanent harness with the connector attached to your battery - the positive terminal (+) on the harness connector is exposed and can short out when you remove the charging panel from the vehicle....a simple fix that I use is to remove the inline fuse before tucking the connector away under my bike's side cover... but gotta remember where you put the fuse when you hook it back up!
c) great value...a better design than the one you could buy from Harbor Freight...as this one comes with all the wire harness configurations that you may need for your power sport application.

Last year once the spring rolled around and it was time to start mowing grass again, I found out the battery to my riding lawnmower was dead. I also recently bought a Harley and feared that the same thing would happen. I store both of these items in my shed where there is no electricity run to it. The cheapest option I found was to use two of these solar power battery maintainers to keep the charge in my batteries fresh. So far I have been using them for several weeks and have had no discharging issues with my batteries or starting either pieces of equipment. I used a multimeter to check the voltage on the solar panels to ensured both worked prior to placing them on my shed. The true test will come this winter to see if the batteries stay charged. This kit comes with clamps as well as cables to permanently install a quick connect. I chose to use the permanent connects directly connected to the batteries. The only reason I give this four stars is that the positive connect on the quick connect is not covered. I'm not an electrical professional but I do believe that the bodies of lawnmowers and motorcycles are grounded to the negative terminal. Therefore if you disconnect the quick disconnect and it touches the body of the vehicle it will be like connecting the positive and negative terminals. I've been careful enough not to let that happen, I'm assuming it would blow the fuse. The solution for this is before you disconnect the solar charger quick connect, remove the inline fuse from the cable. If someone knows electricity better please correct me.
