If your considering buying the Wayfarer by Ray-Ban, you already know it as a cultural staple, worn by everyone from Dylan to The Blues Brothers. But, as cool as the shades are, be careful when it comes to fit. The "New" Wayfarer is substantially smaller then the old style, as well as being a tad more modern, not dominating the face as the old kind do.

The "New" style also comes in two sizes, 52mm and 55mm. I received the 52 only to find them to be a bit too small (I am an average size male), once I returned them for the 55 I was more then satisfied. So in conclusion I would recommend the new style Wayfarer to those wanting the signature look of the style, but with perhaps a bit less obtrusive frame. 55mm is average size, while 52mm would be for females or even some children.

This is one thing I have in common with Jack Nicholson ... a love for the way the Ray-Ban Wayfarer's look and fit. I first found an old used pair of Wayfarers at a garage sale for 25 cents back in the late 70's. They fit so well and the price was right. I loved them. Later I learned that John F. Kennedy, Bob Dylan (on his first tour in England), and Jack Nicholson wore this model.

I lost them in the 90's and couldn't find a current model that were quite the same. It seemed all the models at that time were bigger and rounder, so I didn't replace them. Then the "New Wayfarer" model came out and although they call it new, it reminds me of the old pair I had ... size, look, fit. So I bought a pair and am love'n them again. I use them for sailing, driving, hiking, rafting, travel, etc.

These sunglasses actually block the wind better than some biking sunglasses I bought. I also prefer the non-polarized green lens to the polarized lens that came in those same biking sunglasses. When I ride into the shadows, the polarized lens blocked out too much light and it was hard to see the pavement. The green lens let's in more light allowing me to see better in shadows, yet without being too bright in sunny spots.

The 55mm New Wayfarer in classic tortoise (color 902) with the green lens is my cup of tea, although Dylan wore the black color. They stay on so well I don't need a strap to keep them on during vigorous movement. And your eyelashes don't hit the lenses when you blink.

I am glad I bought the New Wayfarer glasses, wonderful and a better design then the old ones.
I am too a average size guy and I bought the small frame (52) and I am glad I did. For me the fit is perfect and I would not want them any bigger.

I owned my first pair of Ray-Ban's about 20 years ago and decided to get another pair after recently seeing them advertised in a Brooks Brothers catalog. Their price - $109.00, Amazon (through Eyewear Everywhere - $75.94). I purchased the "New" Wayfarer with the sleeker style - not as obtrusive as the larger style can be. I purchased the 55/16/145 based on a review I read that stated that the 52/16/145 were too small. When I received them, I found the "55's" to be way too big. I consider myself to be an average sized male and the "55's" were practically sliding off my face. I sent an e-mail to Eyewear Everywhere, contacted a representative, and within a week had a pair of 52/16/145. The fit was remarkably better and I am more than pleased not only with the new pair, but also the customer service that was very pleasant and expedient! Enjoy your new Ray-Ban's, but consider the style and fit before purchasing.

FAKE! COUNTERFEIT! DO NOT BUY! I read the reviews below (there are a few questioning the authenticity of this product) and thought well, maybe I'll get the real deal. Not the case. I ordered the tortoise/G15XLT glasses "Sold by Sunglass Express and Fulfilled by Amazon." After reading the reviews and having second thoughts, I went out on Black Friday and bought the authentic glasses at Macy's Sunglass Hut (on SALE for 25% off = $89) so I would have something to compare my Amazon glasses to. While the Amazon Ray-Bans are a very, very close replica, they are NOT authentic. The RB etched in the glass is not visible from all angles on the fake version as it is on the authentic version. The folding arms of the glasses creek on the counterfeit version, but they do not creek on the real version. When you set the Amazon glasses on a table, the arms are slightly uneven (not the case on the authentic version). Save your Monday, and save your time...go to a Sunglass Hut, or Ray-Ban's website, and order the guaranteed authentic glasses. Amazon, I have bought your products for years and have never been disappointed until now. What a shame. I will be telling all of my friends and co-workers about this.

I just received my Ray Ban 2132 Tortoise Frame/G-15 XLT, 55mm lens and am here to say that they are the "real deal"..... I even went as far as taking them to my Optometrists office (they carry Ray ban) where I just purchased Ray Ban Clubmaster frames for my prescription lenses. I compared every square inch of what I purchased to the frames she bought from Ray Ban directly........ There is NO difference between the glasses I purchased and what she sells. So, buy confidently from Amazon. I have never written a review like this, but after what I read from someone who felt like they were "ripped-off" I just had to do this!

This was such a great purchase! I recommend this pair of stylish sunglasses to anyone seeking a fresh look. Not only did they fit true to size (I ordered the 52, which was recommended for the average woman's face to which I have) but a great, durable case, and a free t-shirt came with my purchase as well. I wear my new Ray-Bans everywhere and am constantly getting complimented on them! If you're looking for a great pair of sunglasses for a great deal, definitely purchase this item as I recommend them with high regard. Not only are they comfortable and stylish but they also do a wonderful job of protecting my eyes from the sun, as I no longer have to squint!

When the Italians bought the RayBan line, they pimped up the Wayfarer with all a bunch of bells, whistles and fashion points that went against the grain of this basic, classic style. With the "new" Wayfarer, they figured it out and brought back the beautiful, functional design that was the trademark of the original. This throw-back is a joy to wear, looks great, and is the best option for those who want that classic look that B&L Wayfarers gave.

My husband who is a professional driver really enjoys his new sunglasses. These are a little lighter in weight that his previous pair which he had for 17 years. So I was please when I found they were still avialble.

Just bought these to celebrate the return of the sun. I was tired of the giant sunglasses look and wanted something a bit more grown up. I have the tortise/green lenses and they are great for driving. I'm a woman with a small face, and the 52 inch fit me perfectly.
