Size matters!,

This review is from: Ray-Ban RB3025 Aviator Sunglasses (Eyewear)
I have a pair of new wayfarers which I love, and decided I wanted some aviators. I chose gunmetal grey, g-15 XLT, nice understated color, and not mirror lenses. But beyond being absolutely sure which color I wanted, I ended up being the Goldilocks of sunglasses.
First I got the small 52mm aviators, which ended up being WAY too small for me. I learned the hard way that the mm sizes is not specifically the distance across your face, it's the size of each lens. I have the 52mm in the new wayfarers which fit perfectly, so don't let that lead you to a size in aviators, because the size doesn't translate. So then I got the 55mm in the aviators and they were a tad snug on the side of my face. Then I ordered the 58mm. These seem to be the best choice for me and I realllly love them. They're lightweight and comfortable. In the end, I learned the mm size will have a little to do with the distance across the face, being the lens get bigger, but it just wasn't as cut and dry as I thought. It's really best to try these on in person before ordering to know which size fits you best. Good luck!

I bought the Ray-Ban RB3025 Aviator Metal Sunglasses 58mm Black G-15 off of my relative the other day (but I would've bought it from Amazon.com anyways).
Are you looking for high quality sunglasses? Buy it. Are you trying to keep up with the latest trend? Buy it. Do you want to look good? That's the reason why I bought it. Possibly. Or maybe it was because of the second question. For those who doesn't understand how the sizing works as I have, the RB3025 aviators has two sizes: 58mm (medium) and 62mm (Willy-Wonka large). And like a TV these days it would get larger by length and width. With the 58mm that I have, I took a ruler and made the following measurements so you get the idea: width (left to right of one lens) 2.5 inches, height (top to longest bottom) 2 inches, sides (front to where it curves for the ear) 4 inches. They also have a smaller version of the aviator (RB3044) at 52mm, but that's if you have a face of a twelve year old I suppose. I think I almost broke one of them from testing that version. I definitely suggest first checking out your local sun glass store at the mall or outlet so you can test out all the size AND colors that best suits your face and purchase it on Amazon once you made up your mind. I was stuck between black and gold colors for the past three weeks and about six or so sunglass stores. For a person with a small fat Asian face like me, the 58 was just a tad bit large for my face and my cheeks would push the frame up when I smile. But all can be adjusted at your local glasses store to adjust the nose pads outwards so the frame wouldn't be so close to the face slightly. For someone that has a bigger face, they might need to resort to the 62mm because the temple (length of the sides) is much longer because the other sizes may not reach the ear but can be adjusted by the optometrist. So save the hassle and try the sizes/colors out first at your local sunglasses shop before buying them here! The good: - Build quality. It's surely doesn't feel like cheap metal from $20 glasses, or it could just be me because of how much I put on this. But it's heavier metal overall. - Glass quality. I chose G-15 because I thought of playing it safe from polarized lenses as it can cause distortions when looking though LCD screens (I would see small rainbows when I tested them at the store with my phone with a white background). But with the G-15 I was able to see clearly still (doesn't make it look like it's night time) and everything seems less over contrasted (less brightness on objects thus making the eyes less strained). Also the lenses seems durable enough to withstand slight scratches like my iPhone 4. With the G-15 lens it appears that it is green when put in front of anything that is white, but anywhere else especially outdoors the lenses would appear black. - Looks. For any boy or girl, big or small, tall or short it can make anyone look good with it on. I'm sure you'll get compliments left and right. If not, then your friends are just jealous. The Bad: (if there was any) - Price. You get what you paid for and paid extra for the premium brand but is worth the investment. It was like switching to Apple and not coming back to any other brand. Plus for the price on Amazon for the Black or Gold frames with G-15 compared to any other stores, the deal here is the best you can get after a month looking through countless shops. - Fragile. It's thin even though the build appears robust. But I've sat, knelled, and dropped countless glasses before this. But as a responsible person now, take care of it as much as you would take care of your new car. TIP: Always check for the real thing if you weren't buying it from Amazon.com directly. 1) RB etching on left lens (next to hinge), 2) RB on both nose pads, 3) RB3025 Aviator Large Metal (on the left side of frame), Ray-Ban Made in Italy (on the right side of frame), Ray-Ban 58[]14 (under the first the bridge (between lens)), Ray-Ban logo on the top right (not blocking your view and isn't large). The sticker on the lens when new should say G-15 100% UV protection in gold and the serial number with all the info is on the sticker on the side of the box. Would I buy this glasses again if I ever break or lose it? I certainly would. If the trend hasn't changed, but I tried some wayfarers and I didn't like how it looks on me. So try them all before you buy! Thanks for reading!

Worth the money,

After many, many years of buying $10 "cheap sunglasses" I finally decided to see if the people who said good glasses were worth it. Unfortunately, after dropping $[...] on a pair of Ray-Ban Aviators, only a year later, they got smashed in a bad bicycle accident. The fact that I ordered a new pair a few days later is a testament to how convinced I am that good sunglasses with glass lenses are worth it.
On the first day, a pair of Aviators don't feel significantly different from the $10 knock-offs. They aren't lighter, the image isn't clearer, the eye protection isn't better, they don't look better on me. But after just a few weeks of mild use, the cheap plastic-lens glasses start to get smudges and tiny scratches, almost too tiny to see. You don't notice it at first because it progresses so slowly and gradually, but little by little, the view through them gets muddled, they get harder to clean, and you start hating them, all without even realizing. One day you get new ones and the sudden contrast is striking -- wow, these are so much better! That's your only clue for how bad the old ones really had gotten by such slow stages you never noticed. Glass-lens, good quality sunglasses are like that first day every day. They don't develop the smudges, the scratches, the difficulty with being cleaned, the gradual degradation of quality. The day that I lost them, they were as crisp and clear, they looked as good, they fit as well, and they worked as well as the first day. If they cost ten times as much, they ought to last ten times as long to be worth it. And assuming you don't sit on them, lose them, or get into a bike accident with them on like I did, they should do that easily. But even if they don't quite last that long, they might still be worth it. After all, ten pairs of cheap sunglasses that are smudgy and unpleasant to wear for at least half of their lives is not as nice an experience as one pair that's wonderful every day.

Perfection,
By I used to have the Ray Ban shooter-style frames with the large (62mm I think) lenses. They were too heavy. Not a problem with these bad boys. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another pair if these get lost, broken or stolen.

Wrong Description,
This review is from: Ray-Ban RB3025 Aviator Sunglasses (Eyewear)
I ordered the Ray Ban Aviator W3277. Outer Rebel's description of the sunglasses is silver/grey. When I got them they are actually silver/grey mirror. There is a big difference between non mirrored sunglasses and mirrored sunglasses.

Don't Buy from Sunglass Express,
This review is from: Ray-Ban RB3025 Aviator Sunglasses (Eyewear)
Sunglass Express hides specific "terms and conditions" for returns & exchanges (15% restocking fee, inconsistent specifications from what is stated online & delivery invoice, etc.). Product description-sizes, colors, etc. not clear/accurate (must see RayBan official website to decipher). Although I followed all requirements, didn't receive requested response confirming my credit was issued. Will never purchase from Sunglass Express again!

I bought these for my husband after he broke his first pair which had lasted for 3 years (a record in our house). Not only are these much less expensive than other sites, but they actually arrived at our house just days after we ordered them. They were almost so inexpensive we worried they would not be legitimate, but they are and we are delighted.

Arrived Fast, Work Great!,
Bought as a gift for my Bro-in-law, they arrived really quickly and he loves them! Purchased the polarized, which help out greatly with sun and water glare. All over a great pair of sunglasses.
