Firm and not very cushiony for a gel seat.,

I bought this seat for my beach cruiser, I wanted a gel seat so that it would be more comfortable for longer rides. The first thing that I noticed when I got it is that it was firmer than I had imagined (I had pictured that it would be more like the super squishy gel inserts for your shoes). Though, if you press on the seat with your finger, you can feel the gel, so it is there.
I put the seat on my bike, adjusted it a bit, and went for a ride. It may still need a few adjustments, (tilting, lowering), but I was not able to find a comfortable way to sit on it. The bulbous mounds on the back of the seat tended to push me forward so that I was sitting on the front point, then when I would try to set myself back more, the seat mounds would dig into my butt bones (and I don't have a very bony butt). Maybe it needs some breaking in or getting used to? |
