I'm 6'2" and have been riding a 24" wheeled Schwinn Ranger mountain bike. It's been rather uncomfortable for my tall frame, but instead of buying a brand new bike, I decided to get a taller bike post. This post has withstood many bumps and potholes while riding in Boston and has not bent once! It's 3" taller than most bike posts out there and was actually the only 15" post I could find!

If you're looking for a post to turn a kids bike into a comfortable adult bike, this is the perfect post.

It's shiny and light. But it bends. I ride a bmx bike with no shocks and I weigh 140 lbs+20 lbs backpack. The seatpost angle is about 15-20 degrees from vertical and I had it installed with only three inches in the frame. It starting bending slightly at the part closest to the frame. It was probably all those bumps and curbs. It didn't seem to be bending any further though.

This seat post worked great for me for about 5 months. I typically ride about 15 miles a week (I commute to and from work). Today while on a longer ride, the seat post began bending really badly. (I had about 7 miles to go at this point). By the time I made it home, the seat post had bent to nearly a 45 degree angle. I felt like I was riding a little kids bike with my seat barely above the back wheel. (Yes, it was a funny sight).

This post is still relatively cheap, and as other reviewers have noted it is difficult to find a similar product for even close to this price. This is likely because this product is stretching the limitations of how long a seat post can be if it is made from aluminum or cheap steel. Also I am a larger man @230 pounds, so that probably added a bit more stress to the seat post.

I did just order another one to replace the badly bent one, but I plan on bringing a spare seat post on longer rides, just in case this happens again. (The original seat post from my bike). I would rather not have to try to ride 7 miles with a badly bent seat post again.

I will say that before the seat post bent, it was a great help on my bike. I am 6'3" and this seat post gave me the extra clearance I needed to comfortably ride my 26" Schwinn Sidewinder. (After putting the stock seat post back on the bike, I can definitely feel a difference; it is harder to pedal and I feel like I'm riding a kid's bike). If I could find a similar product that was a reasonable price and sturdier, I would definitely use it.

The post came in the time frame promised and in great condition. The extra long seat post was purchased since I am very tall and needed to raise the seat on my bike. However, after only a short time the post had a bend in it and could no longer be adjusted. I only weigh 75 kg.

I bought two to go on a pair of matching bikes for a freind's grandchildren. The bikes are Spiderman bikes w/ 12" wheels, & only had 6" seatposts stock. The grandkids liked the small bikes, but had outgrown the height of the seats. I bought these posts because I fool around with bicycles allot & I'm already familiar with Sunlite's reputaion for quality. Once again, Sunlite didn't disappoint. The posts are made with solid tubing, & heavy chome plating. By the way, if you happen to be doing somthing simaliar, but don't know allot about bikes; most all seatposts (even on the cheapo bikes), have the diameter stamped near the bottom of the post.

The post was as advertised. I failed to realize that post come in different strength. Being a big guy, this post was too soft and started to bend after the first use with extended 9 inches from the frame.

I ended up ordering a different post, which was much stronger in design and that seems to be working just fine.

My Wallyworld Schwinn mountainbike seat post just would not get high enough for my 6' - 1" 205 lb frame. This seat extension did the trick. Now I'm getting much better leg extension & a more healthy riding position. Good value for this price.
