Genevieve Williams is offbase,
By Matthew Neil (Minneapolis, MN United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sunmachine (Audio CD)
Whoever Genevieve Williams is, she is totally offbase in her editorial review of Sunmachine. This cd is a brilliant compilation of many styles of music. It is a fabulous adventure for the listener. "Carnival" is currently one of my favorite songs. Having studied instrumentation, style, and composition, I would have never imagined a mix of Spanish trumpets, bagpipe/drumcore, and electronic music being combined into a spectacular dance number. And as for Genevieve's remark that little music is memorable from this cd, after only one hearing, I was drawn to listen repeatedly because melodies, rhythms, and unique instrumentations were stuck in my head. I HIGHLY recommend this cd to anyone.

Dario G's Sunmachine is brilliant!!!,
By jeff diehl (Orlando, FL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sunmachine (Audio CD)
I first heard the opening track from this CD(Sunchyme)on the radio. I called the radio station to get the name of the artist and I went and bought the cd. I truly love this cd and I find it to be a great cd for the music lover no matter what music you like. It has wonderful beats and you can hear the passion of the artists through their creations on this album. It's one of my favorites and I recommend it to anyone. Go out and buy this cd, sit, and enjoy!!--jeff

I didn't own this CD a week ago, and now I can't get it out of my head. On first listening I realized I have heard much of this before, on TV and some commercials. And the opener, Sunchyme, is a beautiful remake of 'Life in a Northern Town' from the Dream Academy's 1985 album, honest to the original, but even more joyous and totally uplifting. I've struggled through all types of music in my life, always looking for those nuggets of good feeling and emotion, and sometimes trying to like music that wasn't touching my heart and soul. I don't think I've ever stumbled on a release which so fully expresses what fun music can sound like. Not hard at all. Just turn it on and it will turn you on.
