I found this EP on the Ben Folds site, and I think it is one of his best. "There's Always Someone Cooler Than You", "Learn to Live With What You Are", and "Rock Star", are good songs, but "All You Can Eat" and "Songs of Love" are simply amazing. All You Can Eat is a song Ben writes telling his son about the problems our nation, or more specifically, it's people, have. it is Ben's best song to date (in my opinion). Finally, Songs of Love is a beautiful ballad to end the record, as Ben always does.
Hard to find, but worth the search.

Ben's music after the band broke up has had a melancholy sadness to it. It's not the pop fun or even pop seriousness that he had while recording with Darren and Robert. I can't realistically see any songs from the 3 EPs he's released since he stopped recording for Sony. It's good music to cry by.

/Sunny 16/ is definitely not without its charm. It's best when Folds is doing his usual sunny and sarcastic pop, as in "All U Can Eat" and "There's Always Someone Cooler Than You." The lovely closer, "Songs of Love," is another highlight, swaying along on a waltz beat as the piano and strings dance. The other two tracks, "Learn to Live with What You Are" and "Rock Star," essentially sound the same: nondescript mid-tempo pop tracks that neither inspire nor offend. They're not bad, per se, but I doubt they'd make the cut on an actual Folds album. They do bring the experience down, though, which is a shame given the quality of the rest of the material. Pick up /Speed Graphic/ if you want to hear Folds at his finest in this EP collection, but /Sunny 16/ is still a nice investment for its strong material, which is among the best in the EP trio.

This is a great EP! I love Ben Folds and his work just keeps getting better. The album takes on an ironic look at society, in a very Ben Folds-esque kind of way. I would say that this EP's sound is closer to Rockin' The Suburbs than any of his other albums.

Overall, this is probably my favorite of the new EPs. Songs of Love and All U Can eat are true classics, and Always someone cooler than you is the most fun and irreverant song I have heard since Forever and ever amen. I disagree with another reviewer that Rock Star and Learn to live with what you are significantly bring down the quality of the EP. If you like Folds voice and piano, you will have a hard time not enjoying these songs even if you find the lyrics sappy. I think they're better than 90 percent of what you'll hear on the radio. Overall a great buy.

Clever lyrics in "All U Can Eat" to a wonderful ballad in "Songs of Love". You'll find yourself listening to the last 3 tracks over and over.
