5.0 out of 5 stars 3 Stories in 1 Book, August 5, 2010
This review is from: Sunny Bunny Tales (Max and Ruby) (Mass Market Paperback)
The three stories included are Grandma's Berry Patch, Max Cools Off, and Max's Fireflies. Fans of the show will remember the episodes these stories are based on; they follow the script pretty closely.

In Grandma's Berry Patch, Max and Ruby need to pick blueberries, blackberries and raspberries for Grandma to make a berry pie. Of course, Max prefers his unconventional way of picking berries as opposed to using Ruby's basket. As a result, the berries get smashed, but Grandma comes up with another way to use them, so nothing goes to waste.

Max Cools Off is about Max wanting to fill his swimming pool while Ruby is trying to water various parts of the garden. Ruby is forever the busybody, and decides to pull weeds as well. Naturally, this gives Max the opportunity to get muddy. In the ened, they compromise by using the sprinklers to clean Max off, while watering the garden.

Max's Fireflies has always been one of our favorites, since we have so many fireflies in our backyard at night. Ruby and her friend, Louise, are preparing to go to Grandma's to see fireworks. They spend so much time getting ready that they miss the fireworks, but Max shows them that fieflies can be just as much fun, if not better. We especially like the way the beauty of nature is emphasized in this story.

Some other books in this series are Bunny Fairy Tales (Max and Ruby) and Snow Bunny Tales (Max and Ruby), which have three short stories per book, but Ruby's Falling Leaves (Max and Ruby), Happy Halloween! (Max and Ruby) and A Merry Bunny Christmas (Max & Ruby) are single full-length stories.

The sentences in these books are great for kids learning to read by themselves!
