Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

PreSchool-Grade 1-Small, slim concept books illustrated with close-up color photographs. Both of the easy-to-read, large-print texts are narrated by a child who describes what she will do and wear on a sunny or cloudy day. In Cloudy, the weather has ruined a chance for a day at the beach. At the playground, the narrator can hardly see her shadow. The story ends as the clouds begin to break up, portending "a nice day after all." Unfortunately, there is no mention of clouds being related to possible precipitation. In addition, the photos appear staged. After showing sunblock, the zoo, and swimming in a pool, Sunny ends on a bright winter day, which expands on the usual hot/sunny day concept. Fair to partly cloudy selections for beginning readers.
