A great purchase for so many reasons.,
By Tommy in Jersey "do57" (Westfield, NJ USA) - See all my reviews The most important feature turned out to be the dial that controls the speed. This provides almost infinite (so it seems) speeds. The digital ones can't do that. When he first started he needed the slower speeds that only this dial could provide. This machine has performed flawlessly, it has been used almost every day for 2 months with no problems. The timer is a great feature, the machine shuts off when it reaches 0. Minor Issues 1) We removed the calorie counter as it gets in the way and kept falling off. It wasn't needed anyway. 2) The blue plastic feet are not secured to the legs and tend to spin when moving it around. Secure the blue feet and it would be a perfect machine. My Dad's trainer checked it out before he started using it.

I bought this pedal exerciser for my mother to help her rehab after a stroke. Medicare and regular insurance only pays so for much rehab (surprise surprise), so I decided we needed to pick up the ball after they dropped it).
She has very limited use of her left shoulder, arm, hand and fingers. There are non-motorized and there are motorized models. I decided that motorized was needed. I believed if her right arm (her good arm) fatigued too early from trying to pedal the non-motorized models, her left arm would not get the time needed to rehab. My idea was to wake-up the left arm and to get it moving was the best way. I decided on this motorized model as it was less expensive than the other motorized models out there. I was keeping my fingers crossed. A small note here.. this model does not have the REVERSE motion as some of the expensive models , BUT this is easily remedied by going to the other side of the small table she has it on, and using it from the back end. This way of using it will give her the reverse motion, so her shoulders and arms get the exercise in a different range of motion. I had her start on a slower speed with 2 -5 minute sessions. One in the morning and one at night. I slowly increased her time over 4 weeks. She is currently up to 20 minutes. In just a few weeks she has already noticed a small difference in her grip strength. In the beginning her left hand would slip off the pedal quite frequently. Now, it seems to stay on the entire 10-20 minutes she is using it. Although this is a small change, every little improvement is welcomed. Hopefully more changes will begin. It certainly is worth trying. At the same time her right arm is also getting a workout. The model seems strong. No problems.

Aid for the disabled,

I purchased this item for my mother who has Parkinson's disease. As a result of her Parkinson's, her mobility is extremely poor. This motorized exercise bicycle, helps her to move her legs, to aid in the circulation of blood as well as keeping her muscles fit. It also helps her mentally to feel that she still can have some consistant movement. I highly recommend this product for anyone with mobility problems.

I've been suffering with severe back pain for over 5 years and it's difficult to exercise without making matters worse. I have a regular stationary bike and just 10 minutes on it can set me back for days, making my good intentions counter productive. A friend came across this Sunny Motorized Bike and suggested it to me and I'm so glad they did!
I'd never heard of a 'motorized bike' before, and in doing some research, it seemed perfect for me. As the name suggests, the bike has a motor in it that assists with pedaling. If your feet aren't on the pedals, you can actually see them spinning round and round as if someone is using it. There's a hand held unit that adjusts the timer, power and speed, which can be adjusted to your liking. And there's also a separate digital calorie counter and readout on the bike itself. Since the bike is motorized, you will need to plug it in. Though you can also use it without the motor assist and leave it unplugged or turned off. Obviously, you want to get situated before turning it on, but I find the motor assisted pedaling very helpful. I've only just started with this Sunny and I'm already able to pedal for 20 minutes! I've never been able to even come close to that with my traditional exercise bike. And best of all, NO PAIN! Well, aside from my normal pain -- what I mean is this Sunny causes no additional pain, whereas my traditional exercise bike did. Needless to say, I'm very encouraged. I'm confident I could go longer than 20 minutes but want to take it slow and not hurt myself. Is this a "Real Workout?" I've seen a few reviews where people are complaining that this Sunny doesn't offer a 'real' workout. Well, I think this comes down to a matter of common sense -- if you're in good health and looking for a workout, than this is not the bike for you. This is a specialized piece of equipment for those with special needs and physical handicaps. For us, this Sunny DOES offer a real workout that matches our capability. It's completely unfair for an able bodied person to buy this then give it a negative review because they failed to educate themselves beforehand. This bike is AWESOME for those of us that need to be physically active but lack the capacity to workout like others would on regular equipment. A word about slippage: A few reviews have also mentioned that the unit easily slips around on the floor. I have not experienced this at all but did take precautionary steps just to be safe. For one, I use this unit on a carpeted floor, which helps. Additionally, I bought a non slip pad for a dollar and place that underneath the unit just to be sure it has good traction. Between the carpet and non slip pad, I have not experienced any slipping or sliding. I imagine it might if I placed it on a table and tried to do an arm workout, but I haven't done that yet. Though I'm confident the non slip pad would keep it in place, even on the table. Bottom Line -- I'm VERY happy with this purchase and glad I bought this! And as far as I know, Amazon is the only one offering free shipping which is a big savings! I highly recommend this Sunny Motorized Bike to anyone that may have some sort of physical limitation and is looking for a way to keep active. Obviously you should ask your own doctor and gauge your expectations; we're all different. But for me, I'm thrilled I made this purchase and wish I would have found out about this long ago. I could have saved myself years of additional pain. But I have it now, and I'm glad!

Help for stroke victim,
The fully automatic pedal exercise machine is awesome. Purchased for mother who had severe stroke and unable to walk or stand on her own. She feels like she is actually doing something on her own. Machine is very sturdy and the foot pedals hold her feet securely.

great little bike,

My husband recently had a total knee replacement, and the best therapy came from his home physical therapist. She had him exercise on a motorized mini bike, and it helped him more than any other therapy. I wanted to purchase a bike for him, so I checked it out on Amazon. I found this little bike to be very similar to the therapist's bike, and it has turned out to be his best mode of exercise. It was priced very reasonably and has turned out to be a great buy!

Great product for Parkinson's people. The motor works when they can't pedal. Helps them keep their muscles working. Can be used for legs and arms. A+++++ product.

I cannot believe how fast this order from Amazon was processed, shipped, and delivered! It was packed (all parts accounted for and working) so well that it took longer for me to unpack and get all the plastic wraps/ties undone than to get it set up and running.
Yes, the instructions are not the best, but there is very little assembly left to do other than the digital display unit, the timer control unit, getting the pedals in proper alignment, and plugging it in. Actually, if the instructions drive you crazy, just follow the picture on the box or instruction manual. There is one instruction that is important if you are going to use it motorized with the timer. You can plug the unit into the wall socket, but do not turn the unit on until after you have set the timer (turn it all the way to the right for fifteen minutes) and let it run down before turning the unit to the ON and LOW or higher settings. Otherwise if you power up the unit before priming the timer, it won't work. Other than that....it does not take a rocket scientist to set up the mini bike. Also, to pedal in reverse, after turning off the motor, (the timer keeps going whether the motor is on or off) either turn the mini bike around or move your chair to face the back of the mini bike instead of the front. For me, moving the mini bike around in reverse position is the best option. One reviewer mentioned how difficult it is to adjust the foot straps on the pedals and although I didn't adjust mine, I can relate to her frustration. Will have to really take the time to see what is the easiest way to adjust the pedal/foot straps. Now, the most important part of the review. It works and can be used either motorized or manual. I have two bad knees from previous injuries and the mini bike really helps (in addition to other leg resistance exercises) to get my leg muscles warmed up and ready to go. I am very pleased with this purchase as I had a manual mini bike for several years and am so glad I chose this model for an upgrade. If you have physical limitations in the legs or have had leg, knee or hip surgery I highly recommend (after consulting with your doctor or physical therapist) this particular brand and model to you.

Good Purchase,

Recently disabled I realized I needed to exercise and maintain range of motion in my legs, arms and shoulders. I purchased this item to support my attempt in doing so.
This item is appropriate for me in obtaining both. I currently do not need the assistance of the motorized pedaling and hopefully will not need it soon. However I appreciate this option. The item is not meant for those who want to "feel the burn."
