best of the female band vocalists, August 14, 2011

HelenForrest was, without argument, the very best of the big band vocalists. She had been designated as such by most of the band leaders as well as the musicians. She was consistant with the band members as well as the later orchestras. I had the good fortune to speak to her in her later years when she could no longer speak, but the million dollar smile was still intact. If "the best" ever comes to a vote, all my votes will be for Helen Forrest. It's sort of like a love affair.
