If you are searching for the large plastic glass that Eye doctors used to give patients after cataract surgery these are the same type. They will fit over your normal glasses. I used to get these at Longs Drugs but they don't carry them at my local store any more. You can buy up to three pair and shipping charge was the same as for one pair. Quality is as good as what Long's and and price is less.

I have used these for the last 5 years and absolutley love them. the cover my glasses and really give me great protection from the sun. I have eye problems and these work the best I have tried.

I've had these sunglasses now for a couple of weeks or so and have been using them when I work outside in the sun to wear over my prescription glasses. Build quality seems fine, especially for the price which at the time of this review was pretty cheap (less than $8), but don't go dropping them. The frame itself seems strong enough, but they will scratch up quickly if you aren't careful. Make sure to use the protective case (cheap vinyl sleeve really, works though) they come with when not in use to protect them.

When it comes to blocking out the sunlight they're pretty good, even on the sides and top. Only a little light is able to get through on the bottom of my vision, but not enough to cause me any problems at all, so that is only a minor nitpick. Bear in mind that is with me wearing my prescription eye glasses, which causes the shades to stick out a little*. If you don't wear eye glasses and just want some shades that are very good about blocking light from your peripheral vision they'll sit closer to your face and do an even better job of blocking out the light. Comfort was OK too. They were a little tight around the ears, but I was fine with that since it prevented them from slipping around, even when I was sweating heavily while working and moving around. I was never in any pain or discomfort though, and was able to wear them for hours at a time.

*FYI my eye glasses frame is a little over 5.5" wide (just under 14.5cm). The actual lens is just under 1.5" tall (just over 3.5cm). The lenses on my glasses are semi-rectangular, so they're a little wider and shorter than some of the rounder types out there. Other than making the shades stick out a bit farther than normal, they work fine with my eye glasses. If you have rounder eyeglass lenses than these shades will probably fit you better.

Excellent item if you wear regular glasses. Other I have looked at do not cover the side.

Recently, I started having some eye problems from too much sun exposure and needed some better sunglasses to block out the sun rays. I did not care about style at all. I tried a couple of others but nothing seemed to take care of the problem. Then I purchased the Sun Shield Sunglasses on Amazon.com and now I have the full protection I need and I have even received compliments on the style, which came as a big surprise to me. I guess they have a cool look, eh? They are just great!

These are great. Originally my husband bought the more expense glasses but these scratch and wear as well. We live in the north so these are perfect. If you live in the South which we go to the bottom part of the glasses do not come down all the way shielding the eyes from all light. It is fine for my husband.
