4.0 out of 5 stars 110v AC Direct Plug-in Wireless Door Chime/Doorbell, ST78 What a relief!
This is a great product. The sound could be just a little more realistic, but that is the only thing that I find less than perfect. It's loud, has several selections of chimes and channels, easy to install and it's a huge help to me. Now I always know when someone's at the door.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and does the job
It is cheap and does the job. The chime is about twenty feet from the transmitter and works fine. The quality of the product and the instructions could be better though. One big issue I have is that the button on the transmitter must be held in for about 2 seconds before the chime rings. When I first installed it I thought it was broken until I realized that. I will have...

5.0 out of 5 stars Kaito Doorbell, October 20, 2005

I own a triple decker three family house and the doorbells were out for the two top floors. Both Kaito doorbells work perfectly over this long distance. It was simple to switch the channel on one of them so that they would be on different channels. I think it was a good decision for me not to buy the cheapest doorbells I could find and have a good chance of proper function. I am very satisfied.

One big issue I have is that the button on the transmitter must be held in for about 2 seconds before the chime rings. When I first installed it I thought it was broken until I realized that. I will have to put a label next to the button stating that it should be held for 2 seconds.

3.0 out of 5 stars UPDATE! JUNK!!! Works great but.., May 2, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The door chime works great but we have noticed that no matter where we plug the chime in it crackles randomly. Like it is picking up interference through the electrical circuit of my home. It is annoying so we plugged it in further away from the living room. I would have given it 5 stars if it was not for this crackling noise. We changed the channel several times to no avail. !UPDATE! After only one winter the gasket on the outdoor part dried out and cracked. The insides got wet and shorted out the battery. Every battery I put in there drained in less than a day. This product is junk. For some reason I cannot change my 3 stars. It is definitely a 0 star product.

2.0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for, October 13, 2007

I bought two of these because my son is deaf and we wanted a way to alert him with light when we were at his bathroom door and at his bedroom door. We thought the multi-channel function would be great for this (and it was). First, though, the light wasn't working and the product was replaced promptly by the vendor. Now, the transmitter isn't working on the other one...and it isn't a battery problem. Also, mounting instructions were not provided and a call to the vendor indicated the double sided tape provided would work well and for a long time. I mounted them on clean, painted door frames and they both fall off routinely...so, for us, double sided tape did NOT work! I'm sure there must be some way to screw them on but it isn't obvious to me. I'm disappointed and left with one non-fuctioning unit.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not In My House!, June 23, 2007
I installed this bell in the beginning of April. It had nowhere near the range stated in its description. Within the first month, the rubber seal on the pushbutton split and fell off. Then the bell stopped functioning in its original location. I had to move the bell to the inside wall opposite the location of the pushbutton for it to work. As of yesterday it has stopped functioning altogether. The pushbutton apparently is transmitting (red LED lights when button is pushed), but the bell/flashing light unit is dead. Bottom line...I kept the battery and threw the rest away. Be aware and beware!

This bell has a range of about 20 feet. I can hear a knock farther than this thing carries!

1.0 out of 5 stars Very very weak chime, November 20, 2008

This review is from: SunnyBell ST18 16-Channel Plug-in Type Digital Wireless Doorbell with Flashing Light.
I thought I was buying a real door bell or chime, instead it sounds more like a jewelry box. One reviewer (to whom I should have listened) said the sound range was 20 feet ..... I suggest that was a very generous range .... to me it would be more like 5 feet if there is any radio or TV. Also, the included battery ..... was not included. If I can figure out how .... I'm sending it back.

2.0 out of 5 stars Think twice before you buy this chime, August 13, 2009

I am kicking myself for not reading through all of the reviews. The product does exactly what is stated in the description, and nothing more. This is an ultra-economy wireless door chime. I bought it for work but it is not loud enough for my needs. It would be fine for use in a house or in a small office. I have concerns about the transmitter. When I installed the battery, I thought it was far too easy to open the transmitter. One comment stated the chimes sound like a jewelry box, that is an accurate assessment. There are a few common ding-dong type of chimes and a few unfamiliar songs. One recognizable tune was "Kiss the Girl" from the Little Mermaid and I am surprised Disney hasn't stepped in and forced the manufacturer to change it. As soon as I post this review, I am going to look for a better solution. I certainly received what I paid for and now wish I would have done more research before buying this item.
