One of the legends of Australian rock and roll.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Sunnyboys (Audio CD)
following the path laid by radio birdman ,the sunnyboys were the high energy kings around the sydney pub rock scene of 1980.This was the time of the hoodoo gurus ,the church ,"x" (that would be the aussie "X" ,not the la "x") ,midnight oil , and so on.This the self titled debeut is rock solid from start to finish ,and as a life long fan i can only praise bob for the release of this cd.thank you.

Sydney Surfing Sunnyboys,
This review is from: Sunnyboys (Audio CD)
I agree with the other writer who said they are under rated. I grew up as an Englishman new to Australia in the early 70's......our family moved to Adelaide and I saw this band on a TV video show in the 70's I think it was. I got the vinyl and I played it from End to End. I didn't know Alone with You was a hit. My brother and I were hooked on the Aussie sound. It was raw and 'in your face'. I have the CD's now but I wished I still had the vinyl. Whatever did I do with it. It is a pity that Jeremy Oxley lost his mind but this only adds to the mystery of all the songs and the intensity. My brother and I finally got to see them live in Adelaide in the mid 8o's. They had had recorded their last album and were touring it. It was a pub on Grange Road in Adelaide and they rocked. Long live The Sunnyboys!!

A Gem,

The most underrated band of their era. I still listen to this album from beginning to end without skipping a track. I was a kid when they were around but If there was one band I could see before I die it would be the Sunnyboys.
