Fun and Useful,
By A Customer
This review is from: Sunny's Mittens: Learn to Knit Lovikka Mittens (Spiral-bound)
This book taught my sister and I how to knit. My sister still wears the mittens she knit from it, almost ten years later. The mittens are surprisingly easy to make but still really cool. It's aimed at children but I have bought this book for (adult) friends who wanted to learn how to knit.

Kid's Instruction with great story,
By A Customer
This review is from: Sunny's Mittens: Learn to Knit Lovikka Mittens (Spiral-bound)
This is a great idea for teaching kids to knit. It is a story of a young girl and her grandmother. In the story the grandmother teaches Sunny to knit mittens. The story integrates instructions into the storyline. It really is quite cleaver.

Great Introduction to Double-Point Needles for Anyone,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sunny's Mittens: Learn to Knit, Lovikka Mittens (Paperback)
As an adult, I used this book to learn how to knit with double-points. After making 3 pairs of these mittens, with the larger size needles, I was able to tackle a basic sock pattern using size 3 needles. Whenever anyone asks about learning to use double-points, I always recommend this book as a good starting point. I'm happy to find it in print again, so I don't have to loan my daughter my original copy - I'm sentimentally attached to it!

My Favorite Mittens,
By
This review is from: Sunny's Mittens: Learn to Knit, Lovikka Mittens (Paperback)
This is a great book for a beginner for knitting, knitting mittens, learning to felt and knitting with dp needles. The story that goes with it is great encouragement for children learning to knit. It was the first knitting book I bought, and has become my favorite mittens to knit and to wear. I have knit these for so many of my family members and they all love them!

Great book for kids or adults,

This review is from: Sunny's Mittens: Learn to Knit, Lovikka Mittens (Paperback)
I wanted a 'less knitting terminology' based book for mittens...didn't realize it was a story and geared to kids as well until it came in the mail. I have knit for many years but not in the round. I finally made friends with knitting in the round and double point needles after forty! This book is more basic than most adults require, but the simplification was appreciated. My daughter was 11 at the time and she made her own first set of mittens from it too. Highly recommended.
