Easily remove excess moisture from the air with this mini dehumidifier. The unit not only helps allergy sufferers breathe easier, it also helps prevent problems often caused by excess humidity--peeling paint, damaged wood, and mold growth. The dehumidifier uses Peltier (thermo-electric) technology, which means whisper-quiet operation with no noisy compressor, vibration, or refrigerant to deal with. Water collects in the 2-liter transparent water tank, and the unit automatically switches off when the water tank needs to be emptied. Its compact size makes it a nice choice for in a nursery, small bedroom, closet, cupboard, or under a sink. Other highlights include "power" and "full tank" indicator lights, a 12-volt DC adaptor (UL listed), and a convenient carrying handle for simple transport. The 60-watt mini dehumidifier weighs about 3-1/2 pounds and measures 8 by 5 by 13 inches.

I bought this through Target--their reviews said it was great! It seemed to dehumidify, although slowly. However, I was concerned that the "brick" on the AC cord was hot, so hot that I couldn't hold it for more than a few seconds. I found out online that such a problem could be a fire hazard! I called the company, Sunpentown, and they mailed out another cord with the instructions that if this one was also abnormally hot (which it was), I should mail the whole unit back (which I did). Sounds like they've had this problem more than once before. The replacement unit also has a really hot cord. So I suppose this merry-go-round will continue until they hopefully refund my money.

Pass on this. Our apartment is very humid. We've had this running for a month in our bathroom, and emptied it once- it was only half full.

The unit worked ok until the plug melted. The part of the plug that connects to the unit got so hot it melted the plastic. Major fire hazard. I am going to see if I can get a refund.

Don't waste your money!

TOTALLY WORTHLESS!
