I had been waiting for a competitor to Bodum for double-walled glasses for a while now. Since this product advertised "strong" as a marketing tag, I thought it'd be worthwhile to try it out. However, this review isn't about the durability (yet) because I had owned the set for only a few days now.

If you're inclined to buy a pair of these glasses as gifts, be sure to buy two pairs. This is because the production quality appears quite inconsistent. My tallest glass is a whole centimeter taller than my shortest, and that's not mentioning the difference of heights between the inner and outer layers. One of my glasses does not have a perfectly level bottom, so it jiggles a little against the counter. If you're going to keep pairs or give them away, be sure to match the glasses closest in height and internal volume.

About internal volume - these are NOT 13 oz. They actually hold between 9-10 oz, closer to 8 oz comfortably. That's a cup. The 13 oz may refer to the outer layer.

Because of the thickness of the walls and distance between the layers, the lip is a bit thick as well. That's just a minor detail (it's easier to drink from a thinner glass lip).

In terms of insulation quality, they will hold cold milk well without sweating on the outside, but you will still feel the outer surface get cool, which is expected.

I'll add more later in terms of durability as I see fit, but the glasses seem sturdy enough. They remind me a great deal of lab beakers, actually.

Update 8/13: One of my glasses broke. A roughly 1-cm shard of glass was floating around between the walls and water got in during dishwashing. Judging by the location of the break (inside bottom "edge" of glass), I think someone dropped a heavy utensil like a butter knife into it while it was in the sink, causing the breakage. I don't know how that would translate into their "ice cube drop" test, but there you go.

Originally I was going to buy a Bodum double-wall glass cup because of how neat they looked in the pictures, but after reading countless reviews about them breaking so easily, I decided to search for a double walled glass cup that was stronger. And I came across the Sun's Tea cups.

LOOKS: Being cheaper and reputed to be stronger, I decided to give them a try, and boy am I glad I did! They may not look as fancy as the Bodum glasses (at least judging from the pictures) but I have to admit, I am really enjoying the look of these glasses. Based on the pictures I figured these were going to look like test-tube beakers you would find in a science laboratory, meaning they would look boring, stale and uninspiring. However I was taken by surprise, as I personally think they look really neat! They have the look of a standard 16oz straight glass cup, but they also have an additional bit of "depth" which adds a interesting twist to their appearance. There is just something so perfect and streamlined with their look that has me giddy to use the cup any chance I can get.

FUNCTIONALITY: Besides the excellent streamlined look, these seem to work extremely well too. I have boiled water in them several times now (inside the microwave) and made tea using tea-bags and using the http://www.amazon.com/Finum-63-421-50-00-Brewing-Basket/dp/B000I68NCS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1335349951&sr=8-1 I purchased a few years back, and so far the cups have been working amazingly! Yes, the glass does get warm with 212 degree boiling water inside of it, but compared to a traditional coffee cup, the difference is insane.

I've been looking for a competitor for the Bodum brand and Sun's Tea is a good one. The glass seems a bit thicker and more sturdy. The square design is more stable on surfaces as well. I tested a Bodum and a Sun's Tea of the same size with a digital thermometer and hot water. The temperatures tracked nearly perfectly within a degree F. It took about four hours to reach room temperature in both. I repeated the experiment with hotter water and an insulated cover. As before, temperatures tracked within a degree F, but, as expected, it took much longer to reach room temperature.
In Summary,
the Sun's Tea glass is cheaper, as thermally efficient, more stable and sturdier than the Bodum.
The smaller Bodums ( Boda ?) do make more attractive wine glasses. White wine (and martinis) stay chilled nicely and the chill outlasts, by far, their consumption.

I have the 13oz and the 20oz version of these glasses. These look exactly like the picture. The description states these are a stronger version of a previous design. I can see if they were thinner, they'd be quite prone to breaking. They have a nice feel to them, the weight gives a solid feel, the double wall is a neat effect and it keeps drinks cool or hot, as advertised. They have a slight look to show they are handmade, but it's subtle. I'd guess the breakability would be that of a simple drinking glass, no more, no less. I really like these glasses and I am buying more.

I read other reviews, but decided to try it out anyway. I have been using my cups non-stop exclusively since they were delivered about 4 weeks ago just to be sure the product was durable and wouldn't fall apart as some consumers indicated. My non-stop use includes filling with ice from fridge, filling with cold drinks & hot liquids, etc. I have not used them in the microwave. Absolutely no problems and product has conformed to seller's description. I'm very happy, would purchase more in the future, and recommend this product to others.
