5.0 out of 5 stars "nothing less than epic & breathtaking", May 26, 2000
This review is from: Sunshine (1999 Film) (Audio CD)
Milan Records is proud to present the latest from legendary film composer Maurice Jarre - "Sunshine", masterfully performed by the Runfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, Holger Groschopp (piano & organ), Martha Fabian (zymbal), Catherine Bott (soprano solo) and Metro Voices (choir) give this outstanding musical journey the performance it well deserves. Jarre's career has spanned half a century, with some unforgettable scores - "Lawrence of Arabia" (1962) - "Doctor Zhivago" (1965) - "Ryan's Daughter" (1970) - "The Man Who Would Be King" (1975) - "The Year Of Living Dangerously" (1982) - "Witness" (1985) - "Ghost" (1990), over 100 films in all. Maurice with a haunting and refreshing score, all interwoven with his main theme that is clearly mind lingering and memorable.

The entire album is simply wonderful, but the last track - "THE SONNENSCHEINS" is nothing less than epic and breathtaking, "Pure Jarre" at his ultimate. Milan Records have once again given us a beautiful CD to enjoy now and years to come - "Sunshine"!

Total Time: 36:05 on 7 Tracks/ Milan Records - 73138 35902 2 (2000)

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm lost of all Words, February 12, 2001
This review is from: Sunshine (1999 Film) (Audio CD)
What can I say? All I know that I bought this soundtrack out of the blue (I did not see the movie). This is the first Maurice Jarr soundtrack I have bought. Jarr composed one of the the best themes I have ever heard. If you like good music get this now

(note: the soundtrack is fairly short. It is only 36:05 minutes long)
