More About the Author

Even though I'm an Aries (the fire sign), I think of myself as a water baby. I can't resist the ocean; it sings to me. Every day, I spend at least a few moments watching the water, and on good ' or very bad ' days, you can find me walking the Seawall for hours, rain or shine.

I've worked as a legal assistant, a commercial fisher, a brewery manager, a teacher, a technical writer, and a herring popper, while managing to read an average of a book a day. Go ahead ' ask me anything. If I don't know the answer, I'm more than happy to make it up because I've been reading and writing fiction for as long as I can remember.

I blame my mother and my two grandmothers for my reading and writing obsession ' all of them were avid readers and they passed the books and the obsession on to me. And I read everything, from fantasy to mysteries to literary fiction to romance. I devour books.

I write the same way ' with passion. It's part of my day, every day. I love writing, the process and the product, and am astonished and delighted that 20 years on, I'm finally getting paid for it.

There have been only one or two times that I started a book and couldn't finish it - and I read about 2 or 3 books a week. That said, this book was very disappointing. I kept hoping it would get better and better..but I got to page 60 and was bored and just gave up. I have been a fan of the Harlequin Next novels because they're not romance novels at all and I like that they are usually good stories about women - not to mention the prices are great. But I would pass this one up and go for others in the series...most of them are not this poorly written.
