Lovely melodies & harmonies abound on The Sunshine Company's three hit singles, all here in their glory. "Happy" beat out a rival version by The Blades of Grass, hitting #50 nationally. The group's highest charting single, the wonderful "Back on the Street Again", went to #36, and my personal favorite, "Look, Here Comes the Sun", rose to #56. That was it for the hits, but there are plenty of other gems to be found here. Their take on The Beatles' "Rain" is quite nice, and a couple of the flip sides of their hits, "I Just want to be your friend" and "It's Sunday" are lilting tunes. The band also recorded The Youngbloods' hit "(Let's) Get Together" (as did the We Five) and a Hoyt Axton tune called "Willie Jean". Lots of lush listening here.

The Sunshine Company epitomizes the mellow love peace and brotherhood sounds of the 70's with beautiful harmonies, lilting melodies and lyrically the joy and the pathos of the times. The sound is as fresh today as it was when first performed. Their etherial quality will put you into the most relaxed state of mind and bring a smile to your face! Out of 1800 CD's in my collection this rates in the top 100!
