4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Emotions!!!
The Emotions, hands down, are one of my favorite girl group of all time! Sisters Sheila, Wanda, and Jeanette hail from Chicago along with cousin Teresa Davis (who later substituted for Jeanette). "Sunshine" was issued shortly after "I Don't Want To Lose Your Love" made them a household name.

Here's some insight to the playlist: With Wanda on lead "Shouting...

3.0 out of 5 stars Rare Xmas Treasure
"WHAT DO THE LONELY DO AT XMAS" is an R&B holiday classic. That hard-to-find track is worth the price of the CD. Why it's not included in an of the Emotions "BEST OF ..." collections is beyond me! The song has that aching, tender appeal of the old-school girl-groups like the Supremes and the Marvellettes.

Here's some insight to the playlist: With Wanda on lead "Shouting Out Loud" became #31 on the R&B. Sheila gives a breathy fresh interpretation of Carla Thomas' "Gee Whiz". Their top notch harmony shines on "I Really Miss You" and "Anyway You Look At It," giving Sheila the opportunity to delivery a smooth, melodic twist of the three way love triangle, remeniscent of the familiar Barbara Mason ballards. While "Innocent" is a very simple song, the Emotions manage to make it their own.

My favorites include: "Ain't No Sunshine" making all other renditions pale in comparison (excpet original)and is strengthened by the Emotions strong melodic interpretation; syncopated rhythmic track, "Runnin' Back(And Forth)", which was #91 R&B chart is catchy; "Put A Little Love Away" (#53 R&B, #91 Pop 1974)is both forlorn and hopeful and my number one favorite; "Baby I'm Through", has funky memorable lyrics; "Peace Be Still" clearly displays their strong gospel roots with Sheila and Teresa Davis (cousin who replaced Jeanette in 1970 and again in 1976) singing lead; "What Do The Lonely Do At Chrismas", released in 1973, is the perfect Christmas song with clever Homer Brooks lyrics. The bonus tracks originally issued as singles include: ""I've Fallen In Love" (B-side of 1972's "I Could Never Be Happy, which was written and led by Sheila), "I Wanna Come Back" (B side of 1973 "Runnin' Back and Forth"), "Peace Be Still", "What Do The Lonely Do At Christmas", and "I Call This Loving You."

This is the album for the hardcore Emotions fan,and although the material is a little uneven, the excellent vocals coupled with the intricate harmony makes it a worthwhile investment!

I have finally found it. I have searched high and low for years for this one song. It it well worth the price of the CD. Now I can hear it all year round, as opposed to the holiday season only.
