Another excellent Ernestine Anderson release,
By
This review is from: Sunshine (Audio CD)
Ernestine Anderson has been recording for Concord Records since her comeback in the late 70's, all of her releases on Concord are generally excellent. Here she is joined by a jazz trio featuring Ray brown on bass, and Jeff Hamilton on drums. Highlights include a great version of God Bless The Child and the Nat King Cole version of L-O-V-E, which outdoes the Natalie Cole version. Highly recomended

A Masterpiece of Jazzy Standards!!!!,
This review is from: Sunshine (Audio CD)
This is Ernestine Anderson smooth as silk, yet sultry as only she can be. Ernestine's jazzy timing is once again, nothing short of perfection. Her blues numbers flow ever-so-sweetly. While no two songs are alike, this collection rolls each song into the next one effortlessly. The marriage of Ernestine with the Ray Brown Trio was a concept of jazz genius. This studio recording is so musically well produced, that is is hard to believe it was brought to life back in 1979. The quality of the sound is timelessly fresh! This collection is an exceptional inspiration of jazz talents rolled into a masterpiece! Highly worth the effort to find!
