When Laurel becomes a pet sitter to help defray the cost of her health insurance, she discovers the nefarious goings-on: residents using an illegal erectile dysfunction drug, windfalls from backdated stock options, beloved pets mysteriously disappearing. Laurel thinks of herself as so very inquisitive, although others would simply call it snooping, and soon she becomes obsessed with untangling the threads of a bizarre plan.

Like the protagonist in her novel, Lynn loves coffee, chocolate, red wine, and a cat named Boo. Unlike her main character, Lynn isn't retired and still works full-time. She enjoys hiking and biking in the beautiful Pacific Northwest where she resides.

Liked it! Story moves forward and I thought it was pretty funny. Laughed out loud in quite a few spots - especially the description of the Tom Jones concert and the fight over the dog park. Not giving anything away because the story takes some unexpected and hilarious turns. I tend toward cozies so this was right up my alley. The author's not another Edith Wharton, but I wanted a droll diversion and found it in this book.

My parents just moved into a planned community. Within a week of their arrival, this book was recommended to them. Guess it is becoming a bit of a classic among those living the good life in an upscale retirement community. The book is a fun read since it could happen!
