Product Description

Included as a featured gift in Extra TV's Oscar Swag Bag Goodies--the luxury gift package presented to Academy Award nominees, celebrities and VIP's! The Sunshine Kids Radian 80 Car Seat is a high capacity car seat which is amazingly strong for a big child, but properly designed to provide the best performance for a small child. The convertible car seat offers advanced safety features, a correct fit, and plenty of comfort and support for a child at each stage. The Radian car seat is the only car seat to accept a child to 80 lbs while using an internal 5 point harness. The Radian baby car seat features a patented steel frame which means no bulky plastic structure. The Sunshine Kids car seat is the only car seat in the world with an energy absorbing harness system. The convertible car seat tested off the charts in crash tests and is one of the safest on the market. A system of energy absorbing closed cell foam in the sidewalls of the car seat and the seat back provide total side impact protection. The same foam is positioned underneath the child to help absorb compressive forces on the spine that occur in forward facing accidents. In crash tests with a 10 year old, 80 lb test dummy, resultant excursion values were better than any limit put forth by the FMVSS213. The Radian baby car seat is a superior convertible car seat. Its performance was superior to other car seats when tested in crash tests. It is certainly wider than other convertible car seats and can fit three wide in the back seat of an automobile.

5.0 out of 5 stars Radian 80 Car Seat, January 18, 2009

This review is from: Sunshine Kids Radian 80 Car Seat (Baby Product)
We purchased this car seat for our second son while he was still very very small. We had bought a Britax Decathlon for our first child because everyone raved about how amazing they were. I wasn't so impressed.

The Radian 80 is small, but more roomy and seems like it would be more comfortable. I love that it comes with built in carrying handles and a little emergency info packet. One note - this seat is heavy! You can see the solid metal that runs the length of the seat. I dread carrying it through the airport, but it folds compactly, which is something no other seats do!

Our son has fit in this seat from 10 pounds and still as lots of room to go. He has no problem staying rear-facing in it at 14 months and we will continue to leave him that way until he reaches he weight limit. It's safer that way.
