Does NOT work unless stroller has pre-existing canopy/shade,

Our umbrella stroller does not have a canopy/shade, so I read some reviews and the product description and figured this would do the job. The canopy came in the mail a few days later. As soon as I opened it, I knew I was screwed. It is one of those pop-up shades that you can fold up into a circle to store. In other words, it is a flat, black oval. The outside of the package says "Use on buggies that don't have a canopy or extend existing canopy just by pulling it down." Then I read the directions and the VERY FIRST THING it says is "Your stroller must already have a sun shade (or top/roof) structure for this product work as designed. It works as an extension for current shades. It is not a replacement for those strollers without any shade protection to all."
Oh. So I tried to make it work anyway, but if there is nothing for it to anchor and conform to, it isn't going to happen. I'm sure it works great on a stroller with a shade, but I'm giving it 1 star for a poor product description. I hope this saves someone else the trouble.

This product works fine, at least when your stroller has a little canopy where the shade maker stretches over. It adjusts well, gives the extra shade, the original canopy does not, so it is fine. I did not rate it with five points for the following reasons. First, it is really hard to fold it again once it has popped up. Second the attaching strings are not thought-out well. There are four points to be tied with very short straps and two more with hook-and-loop fastener that i did not figure out how they are supposed to be attached... The good thing is, that you actually only need two ties to make it work.

So far, so good,
This review is from: Sunshine Kids Shade Maker Canopy For Strollers, Black (Baby Product)
I just bought a Graco Twin IPO stroller, and I needed the extra shade, but I didn't want to spend 55.00 on one shade. I bought 2 of these and they fit just fine side by side. I haven't had them in the sun yet, but I know they will keep a lot more sun off my girls than the shades it came with. They were cheaper too. It also helps keep them a little more separated, since from time to time my 14 month old likes to bug my 3 yo. Since we are going to Dollywood in about a month, I couldn't wait 6-8 weeks for these shades, so after a lot of searching, I found them at [...]. Everywhere else they were out of stock or backordered.
