5.0 out of 5 stars what fun!, June 11, 2007

(REAL NAME)
The Archies fourth album showed a new direction for the group. Its sole hit (in the United States anyway) was the title song!

I've not listened to the LP in a number of years, but have very fond remembrances of it! Like all of the group's albums, the LP includes 12 tracks. My particular favorites are the title song, "Here Comes the Sun," the antiwar "A Summer Prayer For Peace," (which charted all the way to #1 in South Africa!) "Over and Over" and "Waldo P. Emerson Jones."

"Sunshine" shows the group's maturing bent, which was even more apparent on the group's sixth album "This Is Love."

If I have one complaint, and it is not about the album, is that it has yet to have been released on CD... likewise the group's last studio album "This Is Love," as well as their last three songs released for radio play ("Love Is Living In You, Plum Crazy," and "Strangers In the Morning").

Ron Dante's voice, who was featured in every "The Archies" recording (except for "Love is Living In You") was pure gold. For a more simple time, the group's bubblegum beat, cannot be topped! The lyrics, clean and trippy, certainly take me back to a time when love songs were light and danceable!

"Sunshine" was a great dance album and anyone buying it cannot go wrong... nor do I doubt, would they be able to keep from dancing! It's a great listen and I recommend it highly!

What we fans really want is definitive boxed set!!!
