5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Surprise
I was very pleased with this CD. This is a mature John Denver. Wonderful voice and presentation. Most of the songs will not be familiar to many people. To me they were great discoveries. The first time through, it was almost as if each song was better than the last. Each time I play it, my mind fights over which songs I will be humming for the next while. My...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not the best
This CD originally appeared as part of the 5 disc COLLECTION and as such doesn't stand up as a reording in it's own right. Much of the material is from John's latter works so will only be of interest if you havn't got the original albums. Unfortunately the excellent the title track and FALLING LEAVES fail to lift this hotch potch above the mediocre. Only recommended if...

My favorites are Eclipse, Falling Leaves and Islands. The tongue-in-cheek, roaring 20's style of Deal With the Ladies, all minute and a half of it, was also a pleasure. This CD has great variety.

5.0 out of 5 stars Strong Voice, Nice Recording, March 26, 2001

Personally, I like this CD. Denver's voice is mature, and the recording quality is excellent, crisp and clear. Though some of these songs are not the most familiar ones that he sang, they are, nonetheless good pieces. Frankly, I like the variety.
