Even if you are not keen on 'free' jazz this CD is worth having just for its version of St Louis Blues. Listen to that and the rest will come naturally. I had the LP years ago but sold it. I read a favourable review of the CD in Jazz Journal and - unusually -happened to find a copy the next day in a shop. The digital remastering has made it even better than I remembered.
