Sunshine: A Novel,
By Kim Nutter (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sunshine: A Novel (Hardcover)
I first read this book while in high school, shortly after it came out in print. Since then, I have read it an average of every 3-4 years. One copy wore out, and I purchased another. I laugh and cry every time I read it. It is my all-time favorite book, and I have read hundreds of books. Being a mother of 3, I cannot imagine what it must feel like to know you are dying, yet try to live life to the fullest for your child. I just hope that when my daughter is old enough to read Sunshine, she will enjoy it as much as I do. Also, could anyone please tell me where I can get a copy of the movie?

One of the most heart-wrenching books you'll ever read,
By
This review is from: Sunshine (Paperback)
A friend gave me this book when I was 16. I cried my eyes out.
Since then I have read it a total of 6 times. It's one of those books you can just pick up anytime and have it relate to your life in a new and important way. The poetry that is randomly interspersed throughout the chapters is some of the most beautiful verses I've ever read. The story of her love for her child and her lover make me cry even just thinking about it. Please find this novel and read it - I believe it's out of print, but there's always used copies available somewhere. I always pass it along to friends who also love it. It's a great story and it's true!

BEST BOOK EVER,
By
This review is from: Sunshine: A Novel (An Avon Flare Book) (Paperback)
I read this when I was a teenager and it made me cry for hours, in the best way possible. Her love for her daughter is indescribable -and even though she chooses to not undergo treatment, you know she's doing it for the right reasons. She wants to be able to live her life without being held back by treatments that make her sick and make her angry - she wants her daughter to love her and remember her before she loses her.
The poetry in the novel is beautiful. I have never found a book that can make me get so sentimental every time I read it. Please find this book and read it - and then pass it along to friends!!!!
