Orba Squara have released an excellent debut album that is wonderfully upbeat & positive,in fact, by the time you reach track 10, it makes you feel the band must be exhausted as they manage to make you continually smile throughout.Mitch Davis is the driving force of Orba Squara & his talent overflows as he has written,recorded,performed & produced the whole album & the result is a collection of songs that are undeniably catchy and universally accessable.The track "Perfect Timing" has already been adopted by Apple for their iPhone commercials.Mitch has a wonderful voice,beautiful & gentle,often fragile and, in my opinion, makes me think of a young Wayne Coyne backed by Cat Stevens & Paul Simon covering an early Harry Nillson.Apologies if I may be off the mark with my description,but I love all these artists,so Orba can do no wrong in my eyes."The lyrics dive into a breadth of emotions that range from sweetly innocent to deeply introspective to directly examining human nature. But they always have a sense of hopefulness and hang on to a positive thread. Even the sad songs make you come away with a smile"
Steel string guitar,nylon string guitar,dobro,mandolin,ukulele,toypiano,xylophone,
glockenspeil,rhodes,tube bells,ashbury bass,harmonica,melodica,accordian,
piano,sitar,violin,autoharp,percussion,voice and more are listed as band members & this diversity by Mitch helps maintain a happy,uplifting & timeless creation that deserves a much wider audiance.

So, there's only two reviews for this CD on Amazon here. Heck, hardly anyone has even heard of these guys ever. Which is even more surprising considering Apple used their song Perfect Morning for commercials for a rather long time.

So, you're here for one of three reasons. 1.) You heard the song Perfect Morning on the Apple commercials, looked up the info, and were directed here. You also could've heard Gravel on that Iams commercial or Sky Cloud Winter Breeze on the Goodyear commercial, although the Apple commercial is a more likely story. If so, good job investigating music you like, especially when it's not easy to find. 2.) You were referenced to this band while looking at other bands, in which case you'll more than likely like this CD. The band's you would've been looking at to have seen this band as a "Customers Who Bought This Item Also Bought" mention are more than likely just as slow, relaxing, perhaps even harmonized as Orba Squara. 3). You stumbled upon them, which despite the low chances of that happening due to the fact that they are not widely known, is a good thing! It's entirely possible you've just found your new favorite band. At least for your slower music likings...

Now, as for the CD. If you like Perfect Morning, you'll like this. If you like Gravel, you'll like this. Basically, if you've heard just one of the songs on this CD, any one of the songs, you'll like the CD. Not to say they all sound the same, because they definitely don't. But they all have a similar... feel. Vibe, I guess, at the risk of sounding too weird. They're all somehow very happy and just light-hearted. Orba Squara will bring a smile to your face from start to finish, whether it be one of the songs or the whole CD. With their diverse list of instruments utilized and their unique ability to combine everything and make it fit so well you'd swear one person was playing it all at once, the music will always provide a good listen. It's not too slow. If you're curious, you can listen to a few of their songs on YouTube. I would suggest doing so.

Basically, if you're already considering this CD but aren't sure whether it's worth getting the whole thing, just get it. I can tell you that you will like most, if not all, of the songs on Sunshyness. It's a great CD to have in your music collection, or just a nice one to have in the car and sing along to when you wanna pick yourself up or keep yourself there. Orba Squara's Sunshyness is an excellent CD full of happy, harmonious, and surprisingly catchy songs. You'll be singing them in your head for a long time. In fact, you may never want to stop...
