I've already contacted the company about this.

Unfortunately I bought one through another distributor on sale.

When I took it out of the packing box, the first thing I noticed was the digital control panel was hanging outside the cabinet.

Managed to more or less figure out how it goes back in, loosely, doesn't seem to snap in, clip in, or be glued.

Well, I read the instructions, plugged it in and fired it up.

I've been running a 1200 watt small space heater in my basement office for over a decade during winter months just so it's above freezing, and only when I'm down there. Previous owner never vented the basement which was "finished." But that's neither here nor there, just my rationale for wanting a better heater.

I'd heard of these months ago, only read good things about them, figured for the price I'd give it a shot.

So. It really brought the temp up to "comfortable" in just minutes. I was really surprised. It's not all that quiet, but quieter than the heater I'd been using. The metal panel in back buzzes a bit, which can be fixed, but I left it on for a minute to run upstairs for something and when I came down I could smell something burning, like a capacitor or a motor winding, and the unit had stopped, panel lights were off and I unplugged it immediately.

Tried it again a few minutes later, it runs okay, but it won't shut off. You can hold the on-off button down for minutes and it doesn't do anything.

I called the company I bought it through and they took a message. It's been a week. I'd like to return it.

I've started to contest the credit card charges already. As much as I'd like a unit that heats as well as this, no way I'm trusting it.

I wouldn't recommend it.

I purchased this heater through another distributor on sale. It arrived non-functional. When I called customer service, they were very helpful and walked me through a repair process. The heater worked great for a couple of weeks. It was advertised as portable. Naturally, we moved it around the house. However, after one of the moves we plugged it in and it sparked, popped, and died. Upon closer inspection, the circuit board had fallen off its cheap plastic spindles and come in contact with the metal air duct. These plastic spindles do not actually secure the circuit board, but just support it above the air duct. Pushing it across the floor too quickly could knock it off. The place where the power connects to the circuit board specifically touched the metal air duct, and was scorched. The spark fortunately stayed inside the cabinet, but if it hadn't or the circuit board had vibrated off the supports during use when we weren't paying close attention, it could have been a much bigger problem.

I bought one of these heaters from the company and it was shipped to me but I was very very disappointed in it. the black grill on the front had spots on it, where it looked liked it had been scratched and they put paint on it. Then it would not come on at all, not even a light on it anywhere. It was totally useless. I would not recommand this heater at all. :-(
They may not all be like the one I got but I would not take the chance on it very again.

I received this unit, plugged it in, set temp setting above room temp and it ran for about 20 seconds. It has a timer setting you set to zero so it will run off temp setting, did that, still nothing. Unit is defective. Will not operate. VMInovations sells the unit I bought as LRC2000 but there is a sticker on back that says Model 2000. The Model 2000 is the unit that has the negative user reviews. DO NOT waste your money
