I thought somehow this was a bit bigger then it was, size of a grapefruit, was hoping for a larger one, you have to open the globe and select a color, red white or blue, it does not rotate thru colors.

I had seen some solar globe lights in Germany and I liked them a lot, but was very hesitant to order one, since I didn't know how different they would be. I was amazed! What a nice surprise, they look good, they work well and I would recommend them to anybody. They are a delight, each night I walk into my backyard.Sunterra 300420 Floating Solar Globe Light

This review is from: Sunterra 300420 Floating Solar Globe Light (Lawn & Patio)
I bought two of these globes just to please my wife with no hope of ever surviving more than a month after reading the other horrible reviews. To my surprise, they still work just fine after many months of spending their time in the pool under the Florida sun and summer rains.Maybe I just got lucky, but there are a couple of things that could go wrong with this product unless some attention paid. One important item is the o-ring seal, which is very thin, translucent, and if it comes off it's not easy to get it on. The globe won't leak because of the water in the pool since the seal line stays well above the water. It might leak under heavy rain if this seal is not in place properly. I must admit it's not very easy to put back two halves of the globe together either. Instructions that come with the product are not clear enough to explain what to do when something goes wrong. In case of the battery issues, I suspect some people might not have noticed the barrier to prevent discharging (and charging). One of my globes worked right out of the box, and the other had to be charged the next day under the sun. They don't emit a lot of light, but enough to provide a pleasant ambiance to the pool at night.
