Awadi is one of the top Senegalese rappers if not the top and a sensational talent. It's more than rap. The music is catchy. The lyrics are smart.
I saw him last night at a concert at the French Institute in Dakar... a spectacular show with an 11 piece orchestra that the audience loved. Highly recommended!

Heard a bit on NPR one morning about Didier Awadi, and that was it - had to have it. It was partially the intelligent themes covered (going by the story on NPR, cause most of the CD is in the Senegalese language as well as French), but it was also the great sound. Love it.
