Easy to mix and taste great.
Coleman Aycock
It is a bit "sweet" and has a bit of a stevia taste - if you don't like that you may want to try the plain flavor.

Best vegan protein for those with Gluten and dairy intolerances.

I've seen some pretty sad reviews for this, and I have to state: it's a vegan, raw protein powder. It can be chalky if not blended properly. But, when it IS blended right, it's PHENOMENAL. Best recipe: 1.5 scoops of the powder (I use the vanilla); 4-6 oz almond milk (or soy or rice milk); 2 oz water; 5 ice cubes + 1 tbsp almond or peanut butter. I put it in a VitaMix blender on variable speed til smooth. YUM.
Another way is with the same almond milk or other "milk" , but just use cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice and vanilla.
Another way is to blend with tofu and make a pudding.
Or use fruit like frozen strawberries.
I like it best after I work out in the morning. I feel replenished and recharged.
You just have to be creative. If you're vegan for any length of time, this should be second nature anyway.
To the manufacturer: you might want to start tucking a little recipe "booklet" under the lid. The few pennies it would cost to do this would be more than made up for with repeat bizness once folks understand the best way to mix it.
Thank you for a superior product that delivers high vegan protein without soy.

I rate items based on three criteria - Does it work as advertised? Does the value justify the cost? Does it improve my life? I put my recommendation at the top, then answer those three questions below.

RECOMMENDATION

Sunwarrior's brown rice protein is a really good protein. I've tried a bunch of proteins, eventually settling on non-soy, vegan proteins. This and the Vega Whole Food Optimizer are the only ones I've liked. If you're using protein after your workouts, I'd highly recommend giving this one a try.

FUNCTIONALITY

There is a lot of good data out there on the superior amino acid profiles of vegan proteins, and Sunwarrior's product has been reviewed by a lot of people more knowledgable than I am. For my part, I switched off the whey proteins because I was feeling a little queasy and more than a little tired after consuming them. That was one of the first steps I took toward lowering myself on the food chain. (My goal is 90% vegan).

VALUE

At < $1/serving, the Sunwarrior protein is very competitive price-wise. The amino acid profile makes it far superior to the standard whey proteins however, and most other vegan proteins, for that matter.

DOES IT IMPROVE MY LIFE?

Better taste, more effective, no side effects (no gas, no cramps, no fatigue), not too sweet, not too fake tasting. I also enjoy the fact that if I fail to clean out my blender bottle immediately, it grows advanced bacterial civilizations within 12 hours. Knowing that I'm competing for a resource with numerous other organisms makes me feel better about the nutrition it offers.

First of all, Amazon has this priced $6 cheaper than the actual Sun Warrior website, which is fabulous.

I am a triathlete and have always struggled with protein powders and supplements because they were so full of sugars and artificial ingredients and so forth.

This raw rice protein supplement is awesome! My boyfriend is still stuck on his Syntha-6 powders from bodybuilding.com (which does not carry Sun Warrior, but should start!), but here is how Sun Warrior Chocolate compares to Syntha-6 Mochaccino:

Calories per serving (44g): Sun Warrior - 160, Syntha-6 - 200
Total fat: Sun Warrior - 2g, Syntha-6 - 6g
Saturated fat: Sun Warrior - 0g, Syntha-6 - 2g
Trans fat: Both brands have 0g
Cholesterol: Sun Warrior - 0mg, Syntha-6 - 55mg
Total carbs: Sun Warrior - 10g, Syntha-6 - 15g
Fiber: Sun Warrior - 4g, Syntha-6 - 5g
Sugars: both brands have 2g
Vitamin A/C: both brands have none
Calcium: Sun Warrior - 12% of DV, Syntha-6 - 10% of DV
Iron: Sunwarrior - 40% of DV, Syntha-6 - 1% of DV

Protein: Sun Warrior - 30g - Syntha-6 - 22g

I'm sorry, but no matter how you slice it Sun Warrior comes out on top in terms of pure nutritional value AND protein content per serving. Serious athletes should consider Sun Warrior a formidable brand in the market!

P.S. Sun Warrior does not taste as good just mixed with water, but I find that blending 2 scoops of the chocolate with water/soy milk + frozen banana + spinach + flax seed oil tastes like a healthy milk shake and the spinach is totally undetectable.

I love this vegan protein powder. It digests well and does not feel heavy in my stomach like soy based protein powders do. I love that it's made from raw & sprouted whole grain brown rice. It packs a whopping 17G of protein per serving and has a complete amino-acid profile. I too am confused about some of the complaints of a gritty/chalky tasted. I won't disagree that it does have this to a certain extent, but it isn't overwhelming nor does it affect the taste at all. It blends extremely well with almond milk, berries, & bananas. I have also mixed it with PB2 peanut butter flour and almond milk. The only thing I would not mix it with is plain water. Amazon also sells a shaker bottle with a wire whisk shaped like a ball. It mixes with little effort in this bottle. I guess to each their own, but I have yet to find a protein powder as natural as this one. Perhaps I've just acquired a taste for these types of products.
