5.0 out of 5 stars Go Speed Racer, Go!
I've had my Super 800 for just over a month...in a word, it ROCKS!

Fact: Last Sunday I took it on a full throttle "Bonsai Run," just to see how far it would go. The course is a bit hilly as it follows the ocean's cliffs. I weigh 155 pounds, and I have a trunk on my scooter, and I carried an extra (30 pound) battery pack. So figure a payload of 190 pounds...

2.0 out of 5 stars Needs repairs often!!
We purchased this for my son. It is nice and fast - he loved it - but within weeks it stopped running. We coudn't figure it out and no one in our area repairs electric scooters. Months later I called the manufacturer and they were great - told me it may be the fuse. So got one and yeah the fuse had melted! Got it running again - lots of trouble with the chain coming off...

So figure a payload of 190 pounds. Full throttle the entire way, I was hoping to break 10 miles (16 km). I made 12.6 miles (20.2 km)!!! in just under an hour. The battery pack still had some oomph in it, but I turned into a pretty steep hill and decided It'd be better if I just switched battery packs at that point and came home. A week later, today, I tried a different approach: this time I kept the throttle at about 2/3 speed the entire way. I just got back, I made 15.1 miles (24.3 km) in 80 minutes! I switched out the battery pack, turned around, and really went easy on the throttle, just to see how long the fresh pack would last. I got home in 1 hour 34 minutes and 50 seconds!

If you have owned scooters in the past, you can appreciate the significance of these numbers. Most scooters out there today are either toys for the kids, or extremely expensive ($1,500++) adult commuter vehicles. The Super 800 delivers a performance nearly equal to machines far more expensive, at a fraction of the cost.

I also calculated some extremely conservative operating numbers. I can "fill the tank" of my scooter for 5 cents in electricity where I live. It's actually cheaper than that, as my rate is lower during the night, when I do most of my charging, but I'll use the more conservative number. Assuming that nickel gets me just 10 miles (16 km), again, let's be extra conservative, that means that it would cost me less, significantly less, than $1.50 to go 300 miles, the average range of a car here in the States. How much does it cost you to fill your tank? $30? $40? $60? Well I can do it for LESS than $1.50 !!!

Before you buy any scooter, you must, you simply must, do what I did. Get the phone number of the firm selling it, and simply try to call them. What you will find is the first dirty little secret of the electric scooter business: Almost zero customer service. Before, during, and after the sale, there is all but no recourse other than the web to contact your seller. Most don't even list phones, and those that do, almost never answer. Leave a message? At your own risk, and time. It is all but impossible to reach a live human, even to ORDER THE PRODUCT!!! Think what will happen if you have a problem after you've bought the thing. Which leads us to the second dirty little secret of the electric scooter world: they are all made in China, and you are, sooner or later, going to encounter a problem. You are going to want to get help, like, really fast. How will you do this if you weren't even able to reach a real person while you were trying to buy the thing?!

Well, the answer, my friend, is buy the Super 800 from Chris at Super Cycles & Scooters! I would suggest you try to reach the "other" guys first. Test my experience, see if you can even get a human on the line. Then call Chris. You are going to want to talk to him before you place your order anyway, as you want to discuss with him issues specific to your location and your operating environment (Are you heavy, thin? Will you be operating on hills? How steep? How long is your one-way commute?). You might consider talking to him about a trunk, gearing for hills, and an additional battery pack and/or charger.

My own experience? I had a control box (computer) go bad on my scooter on a Friday. I called Chris on the East Coast (I live on the West Coast). Monday (!!!) I had the replacement control box, complete with full instructions on how to replace it! It took me all of 10 minutes and I was back on the road! I noticed that after a month, the brakes were not as effective as they had been; remember, it's pretty hilly here, so I really use the brakes. A lot. So what to do? Simple, I logged on to Chris's website, entered the user name and password, and Voila! I was able to watch a video walking me, step by step, through the process of adjusting the brakes. It took me 20 minutes, and this was my first time. Anybody else out there do videos for their customers?

So, last thought: simply read the reviews of every other product, and every other seller. Note that electric scooters, and companies, in general get atrocious reviews. Then check out Chris and his Super 800. Five star, five star, five star, five star. When I was in High School, our calculus teacher insisted on grading on a curve. If we were to grade Chris, Super Cycles & Scooters, and the Super 800 on a curve, we'd have to give each at least 10 stars!

Go Speed Racer, Go!

5.0 out of 5 stars The best thing to buy, May 6, 2009
This review is from: Super Turbo 800watt Elite 36v Electric Scooter "Neon Green" (Now includes Econo/Turbo mode button!) (Misc.)
Hey you, who is reading. STOP and read this. STOP searching for scooters. If you are looking for an electric scooter, look no more(seriously, I know what I'm talking about).

The scooter is fast. Flat road I got 23MPH and I weigh nearly 200 pounds.
The battery lasts long, but longer if you don't full throttle the whole time. It'll give you around 15 miles range if you throttle at around 70%.
I contacted the owner by his email and I get replies within half a day. He is very fast at responding, and I get good replies. He's helped me with any questions I've had and he even offered me a FREE EXTRA bulb because mine just went out for some reason. Very nice service.

I AM VERY GLAD!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than expected!, April 5, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Super Turbo 800watt Elite 36v Electric Scooter "Neon Green" (Now includes Econo/Turbo mode button!) (Misc.)
I am a scooter owner. That being said... I owned a extreme gas scooter(junk, junk, junk!)
I recently purchased this 800watt and it came in with nothing broken, well packaged. The scooter
is everything promised. Sturdy, fast for an electric. Batteries last long! Haven't ridden it long
enough yet to run them down all the way and I have ridden as long as an hour or so at a time. Remember
it's electric and for three small batteries to push this 20+ for an hour or more is pretty good. Called the company
two days ago about the throttle sticking, got chris on 2nd ring. Have a new one coming already.
No questions asked. Great customer service! I would recommend this scooter and from this company to anyone!!
Nigdagep.

5.0 out of 5 stars wow!!!, July 26, 2011

Karen (Beautiful Southern California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Super Turbo 800watt Elite 36v Electric Scooter "Neon Green" (Now includes Econo/Turbo mode button!) (Misc.)
I was going to order this scooter in red, from Amazon. Well, if you look, they charge for shipping. It is shipped for free from Super cycles and scooters. So, while the price looks higher at their store, it is actually about 25 dollars cheaper there.
My husband had a small minibike shop in his garage when he was a teenager. It served him and his friends well. They made minibikes for the neighbors, and had quite a few that went quite fast. So he knows a little about what it takes to make a well built scooter type thing.

When the scooter arrived yesterday, he unpacked it; he was impressed that he box was so beat up, and yet not a scratch on the scooter!! SO it really is well packaged. I think it took him about 15 minutes from when he first cut the tape on the box, to be riding it around just a bit. It comes with a few tools, but he used his own. It is nice. No other words needed to describe it. But I must go on.

We first thought about getting a scooter type thing, because our daughter is going to start middle school in the fall. Her school is about 7 miles away, and there is a fairly large hill in the middle. So we were at Pep Boys one day, and looking at thier scooters. They had a razor 1000 that we had just about decided on, but a man on our storage site told us that the thing is a piece of junk. He offered to let us try his out, and we were less than impressed. So we kept looking. We had her ride her bike (a very nice 6 speed beach cruiser) and she was just absolutly worn out, and walked the bike to the top of the hill.

We found a few people talking about this scooter, so the research started all over again. we didn't find anyone who had anything negative to say about them. The scooter, nor the seller. We clled the store, and were plesantly surprised that Chris answered the phone. He plesantly answered my questions, and I went back to researching the product. My husband is a real go getter when it comes to research. A couple of days later, we had another question, and called again. Same friendly voice on the phone, and he assured us that he has parts in stock, ready to send out.

So we finally ordered it. It took a cuple of days (we are in Southern California) but all arrived in a timely manner.
Okay, now to the fun part......

My daughter absolutly loves it. she giggles with glee as she rides now. She has ridden it all over the place , 7-11, back and forth to school, around the park, up the hills, down the hills, and during all this riding, there have been little squeals, giggles, and always a smile. I do make her wear a motorcycle helmet that we bought her just for this purpose, as well as closed toed shoes.

So we torture tested it a bit as well.......

My Husband weighs in at a little over 300 lbs...mostly in his upper body. He is 6'3"+a bit. He loved that the seat is adjustable, so he took it for a ride...a lot of rides actually. He is very impressed. The shockes (his minibikes had a couple of springs on the seat)work well, and he didn't bottom out anywhere. He went up a small lhill, rode it in the grass, slid it around a bit, and had the same grin on his face that my daughter had.

SO what do you think??? We love it. I am going to order the brake light, and my husband is looking into a basket to hold my daughters backpack over the rear wheel. After a few months, I will update this...if it needs updating, if it gets as far as Christmas, and there is nothing else written here, than all is still well with it.

Karen

4.0 out of 5 stars So Far, So Good..., September 6, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

The Super Turbo is impressive - well built & runs great. So far no problems.
The manual is a xerox copy, which makes some of it hard to read.
Dealing with customer service can be frustrating at times.
Overall, the scooter is excellent and I would recommend it to anyone!

5.0 out of 5 stars awesome quality, July 29, 2011
This review is from: Super Turbo 800watt Elite 36v Electric Scooter "Neon Green" (Now includes Econo/Turbo mode button!) (Misc.)
We purchased this scooter last month for our oldest daughter and she loves it. We have purchased schwinn scooters and ezip in the past, but this scooter's quality by far surpasses the others. It may cost a little more, but is worth the extra money. The customer service has been outstanding. You call the number and you actually speak with a real person, there's no push this button for service etc. My husband was a little skeptical at first and really did not want another scooter that he would have to fix all the time, but after getting supercycle electric scooter he was very impressed. So much so that we have just purchased a second scooter, because our 3 children fight over who gets to ride the Super Turbo Elite. My second daughter just bought an ezip last month, but sold it to the neighbor, so we would buy another Super Turbo Elite. And as a bonus their website is fabulous; the videos showing you how to maintain the scooter is very easy to follow even for the mechanically challenged. I do not write reviews ever, but this scooter and company has went above and beyond so I had to give them two thumbs up!

4.0 out of 5 stars Super Turbo 800W Elite Electric Scooter, November 7, 2010
This review is from: Super Turbo 800watt Elite 36v Electric Scooter "Neon Green" (Now includes Econo/Turbo mode button!) (Misc.)

i received my super turbo 800-elite in neon green as ordered, and i love it. this thing really SCOOTS. i bought it to keep up with friends on bicycles, since i have a bad leg from a motorcycle accident and can't pedal anymore. i was looking for something with a little more oompf than the toy scooters i've seen, and i looked around the net before i bought it and saw the great reviews on it... i am not disappointed. i did not have to spend thousands of dollars, and for the price this thing is awesome. this is as close as i will get to riding a motorcycle again!

i left out one star only because the thing is HEAVY ...but take the batteries out and it's manageable.

thank you CHRIS at Super Cycles And Scooters for your friendly service!

This review is from: Super Turbo 800watt Elite 36v Electric Scooter "Neon Green" (Now includes Econo/Turbo mode button!) (Misc.)
This is a great Great Scooter. As a 13 year old and 100 pounds it pushes me up a 500 foot hill in my neighbor hood, 3 times. This is also a very fast scooter. This is not a scam review! This is a honest review of this great scooter. I want to promote a great company and a great product. This is a great product to buy is you are looking for a great scooter. This scooter has the same performance of the $2000.00 go-ped. Except for the weight.
