A great oldschool baseball game, August 14, 2007
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Super Baseball Simulator 1.000 (Video Game)
I played this game as a kid and I recently bought it to relive my childhood. This game is fun because it features special powerups such as photon ball which goes really fast and a heavy ball which often breaks the bat when pitched. This game is fun if you're looking for an easy game that is realistic enough but still has some cool features. The season mode and edit team feature are also nice for a super nintendo game.

The best SNES baseball game you have probably never heard of, August 31, 2009

This review is from: Super Baseball Simulator 1.000 (Video Game)
If you have played MLB Power Pros for the SNES, then this game is going to look awfully familiar to you. If not, read on.
Super Baseball Simulator was just that...a game that let you create your own team, distribute their attributes through your batting and pitching lineup and "simulate" a season.
With SSFB (super super fast ball) pitches. And Missle bats.
You see, you COULD play this game using the regular (read, not ultra mode game but that tends to border on severe boredom (like regular baseball).
The REAL fun of this game is in Ultra Mode. You can choose 1 Ultra Power for each batter and 4 Ultra Powers for your pitchers. This turns the game into some real "cat and mouse" as certain powers work best to neutralize others. Playing this mode against the computer is very challenging, but REALLY fun to play with another player. My favorite has to be the missle bat, which, when hit, turns the baseball into a "smash the opposing fielder against the outfield wall" missle. Couple that with a speedy runner and you can get an inside-the-park HR every time.
The game features 6 ballparks, and the one I love to use is the town, since it's got a VERY short wall down left and right field.
Now, the drawbacks:
- You're very limited in the amount of characters for each player. I think the limit is 6. So naming your team can be a pain.
- While there's a lot of customization to this game, the graphics are not going to blow you away.
However, given all that, this is STILL a great play and you won't be disappointed. This game can be had on the cheap, and get a couple of your buddies around for what will be some of the funniest baseball you'll ever play.
