SIZE: This chair isn't that large. It definitely would be appropriate or comfortable for a small person or a teen. I could sit in it, but it was not comfortable. It was stiff (which might give over time and use), and even felt a little confining. The tag boasts that it will accommodate up to 250lbs, but my husband, who is 6ft and 220lbs, said that it wasn't comfortable at all. He barely fit. He said he felt constrained (movements were limited) and enclosed. He continued by saying that even trying to stretch his legs out proved difficult. So depending on your size and what you intend to use this chair for, it might not be the best option for you. (negative)
QUALITY: To me, this product seemed to be cheaply made. The construction of the chair seat seemed adequate. The seat was made of the traditional nylon material that most chairs of this type are made of; the frame (which was made from an aluminum material) seemed ok (although I would not suggest this product for a medium or large sized person) but poorly constructed; but the push button type control that operate the umbrella (the main feature), which allows you to swivel the cover in various directions, seem to be hastily or poorly made. Over time, I could see the adjustable buttons having issues. (negative)
ACCESSORIES: There is a small cup holder. It is big enough (maybe) for a bottled water. You would definitely need to check if it will hold various cup sizes and drinks (can or plastic).Read more ›

Also it depends on what kind of surface it's sitting on. For sandy beaches at the lake or ocean, not very suitable. The feet sink into the sand making it even harder to get out of. Now for using it in a park on grass it would be great. I'm planning on taking it with me on a trip down to Oklahoma and do some Bass fishing and Cat fishing and try it out on one of my old favorite lakes. But I think the feet will tend to sink into the sand too much.
There's one other problem with it. It's like a Chines puzzle to try and get it back into the carry and storage bag. The other styles I have the bag that came with them is plenty big enough to get the chair in it. This one is way too small. I think they might have used the same bag from one of the other style chairs that's not quit as big as this one.
I think it would be ok for adults from 100 pounds to 175 pounds, give or take a few pounds and for children. It is fairly light weight but I wouldn't want to carry it more than a city block or two. The umbrella is easy to maneuver around to where you want it and being able to put it on either side of the chair is nice. But, it does take up a lot of room. So for a chair to use while watching your kids play soccer or baseball or something like that where you will have a lot of other people around you trying to see I think you will end up with some people unhappy with the way it blocks their view.Read more ›
And the umbrella. The design is simple enough to figure out without a user's manual. The only possibly confusing part is the clip that keeps the umbrella in place, on either side of the chair. Simply depress the bottom of the umbrella unit, and the umbrella assembly pops up and out for placement on the opposite side.
There are two ways to adjust the umbrella, one at the midway elbow and one at the top of the umbrella canopy. Both work with simple click stops; depress the center button and move it to the position you want. Easy enough. And the stops hold pretty well; none of them slipped or stripped while I was using this chair.
One aspect that I expected of the umbrella was not there: rotation. There is no way to rotate the umbrella. It's a given that angle of the sun is going to change in time, and being able to simply rotate the umbrella would be a great way to deal with that, without a combination of clicks and stops to get it into the right position. This is a design upgrade this product needs.
And what of durability? Well, given that Amazon.com requires a review within 30 days, this chair didn't get that much of a workout in a dark and wet DC April. So far it's holding up just fine, with no rips or tears, nothing falling apart.Read more ›
