So I had this for less than an hour and it broke. The button would get stuck, and when the button did work it was like there were no batteries in the thing. And yes I replaced the batteries to make sure that wasn't the problem. I opened it up and the insides just disgusted me. The insides is just covered in glue. Save your money.... don't get this product.

I am a flashlight nut. I love them. That being said, this one is alright, give off a nice strong wide even white light. The problem with the switch can be traced to the battery actually. It runs on 4 AA cells, that go inside a holder that you put into the tube, and there is the problem. If you put it in correctly (only fits properly one way) and screw the cap on tightly, it pushes the switch forward, breaking the glue that holds it in place. So, "don't do that", instead only tighten the cap enough to secure the battery. No more! Also it you break it this way, you can take the front off, (carefully! Since the wires inside will twist up as you turn it...) and re-set the switch with new glue. Once I ded that and didn't tighten the end cap all the way, it worked beautifully.
It is also not that rugged. It fell off a chair, and got a dent in the side of the part the holds the LEDs. Okay, that was thin metal. The construction looks cheap (as in low quality) and what you are actually paying for is 100 LEDs mounted in what looks like a shower head. The whole design looks like some sort of death ray device from a 1940's serial to be sure, but it does throw a good light I'll give it that. I don't recommend it for any place you'd confidently use a maglight. That's for sure. If you are interested, get the least expensive model you can. It isn't worth to me what I paid for it but it is a nvelty. BTW, the head of the flashlight is not as big around as I was afraid it would be, and the dirameter is the same as a "D" cell flashlight so ti fits in flashlight clips well. "You get what you pay for" but in this case maybe a little less. I use it, but I don't miss it much when I put it away for a while. Best to get something with a reflector and a single, bringht LED rather than one of these. At least that way you can light things up a good distance away.

I work outside at night often and have a large collection of flashlights; but am always looking for the perfect light. Purchased the 100 led light 30 days ago. It works but has some unusual drawbacks. It has a medium bright light more like a flood light, with a "halo" of secondary light outside of the main light. Very distracting. It's battery lasts resonable time, but slowly dims. I quess I will toss this one in the back of the truck as a backup and keep searching for the perfect light.
